I have a VU SS it has done 80000klms the engine light has started to come on and off last week thought it was a bad batch of fuel as I run 95 vortex I have put a tank of BP ulimate 98 through the car and the light still comes on and off there are no noises or knocking that I can here whilst driving , perfomance seems to be down.

I took it to my local Holden dealer who checked it straight away no waiting took 5 mins came up as knock sensor error.
The service department then told me that they have never sold any knock sensors in the 5 years gen 111 has been around, I spoke to Sean at Power talk and he also has not replaced any.

MY question is has anyone had their knock sensors replaced and what were the problems with the car (sensors approx. $160each needs 2 plus labour to fit from holden)
cheers Allan

Yes I had mine replaced... timed with a LS6 manifold swap.
They corrode ... manifold is not well sealed at front and moisture can get under and pool around the sensor.

No problems that I observed with car when mine went.
here's a pic i put up a while ago

Thanks for that bluess57 I was worried some thing was wrong with the engine or tune . I did not know moisture could get in the valley cover.
Does anyone know were I can get the Knock sensors from that may be better and cheaper than holden ( $160 each)
