hey there all
was just wondering if anyone has seen these or has purchased these on ebay. it is a full monaro bonnet with vents and mesh for the vents and its made of fibreglass.
i recon the monaro bonnets look the s@#t so was wanting one for my car and found these the weight factor of these in fibreglass would be good as well but am worried that it wont fit properly like most aftermarket fibre jobs.
so if anyone has one would like to know if it bolts straight on and is there any mods needed and does it sit flush as the origional bonnet.
and those out there with proper metal monaro bonnets how much did they cost and same do they sit right?????
thanks guys and girls

May not be exactly the same make but there is a thread with pics on a VY fibreglass Monaro bonnet - with the different front bar Pagey used it looks great! See http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=43113

There was also a thread on here not long ago questioning the legality of fibreglass bonnets given ADRs etc and also suggesting that if you were prepared to run the risk on that (and let's face it, a lot of the mods people do are technically illegal given they affect emissions etc) it may be worth checking what your insurer's viewpoint on them is to make sure they don't reduce or refuse a claim should the worst happen.

Yep, I got one for $550 plus postage and had it painted and fitted for about $350.

It doesn't quite sit flush, but the panel beater said it was one of the best fibreglass replicas he'd seen. The vents are metal mesh screwed straight into the fibre glass. Only problem I concieve is the fact that my commie is a VT2 standard six, and the vents let the rain pour straight in onto the coils:hmmm:

There is a mob here on Gold Coast doing them now - (they are a fibreglass clubby boat builder)!
They look the goods - but you wouldn't catch me with a fibraglass bonnet!
Anyone want the number just PM me and I will pass it on....

See the picture of the Adventra on the skid pan, it has one of these from Rooty Hill on.

My painter (Underwood Smash) said the best fiberglass job he had seen and he does allot if fiberglass panels, front bars, Jet Skis etc. :yup:
