HI
Just wondering if anyone has/had 1 of these as i'm thinking of getting one as my daily & wondering if there are any major issues with them?i believe you have to change the timing belt at 60000k's is this correct?seems pretty low k's.anyone done this & if so idea of cost would be great.drove one the other day & seem like a good thing.any info appreciated.

Assuming the cost for a belt change is the same as it is for the Astra (and it should be, it's exactly the same Z18XE engine) - the belt change should set you back about $600 including labour.

For the price you can pick one of these up for I'd say go for it. We had one for a while, paid $12,200 with 27,000kms for a 2003 model. Packed with features, all the mods cons, definitely a good car. Runs on the smell of an oily rag (compared to the Corolla Sportivo that she now drives).

i believe the XC Barina (i think it was the SRI model in particular) that won Wheels car of the year in 2001. Ive always liked them for the little buzz box they are, fun car to drive (in a very different way to our usual rides, obviously LOL)

thanks for the replies so far guys.yeah i have to say i was quite impressed with the one i drove.a little bit of a harsh ride but i prefer a firm ride to a soft ride,so i can live with that.
