Hi Ken,

I though I'd go straight to the source in researching my future project. I'm seriously considering forced induction for my VXSSII in the not too distant future. My question to you relates to ADR Compliance on the Harrop Stealth LS112 LS1 Commodore/Monaro Supercharger Kit.

The car is daily driven so before I make my choice of forced induction I would like to know if this kit complies with ADR?

Given such a huge investment, the last thing I want to deal with is the law and my insurance company. I'm insured with Shannons and according to their policy, as long as the car is deemed roadworthy, irrespective of the modifications, I'd be covered, however the police or other authorities my have a different view on this. My concern would be having my car unroadworthy for having this kit.

I would realy appreciate 5 minutes of your time responding to this query as I am very much in limbo as to which path to take. The other option i'm considering is the twin turbo route and I'll be asking the same question.

This issue may have already been addressed in this forum, however am not able to find it using the search function. Also, there are so many opions going around, not just in this forum, that the best way to address this is cold hard facts.

Your kit really appeals to me and have had a chance to experience being driven a car with one and loved it.

Last but not least, how much would one of these kits cost supplied, fitted and tune, fitting time, cost to polish or HPC the kit (Red) and which reputable workshop around Noble Park I could go to. The engine is standard apart from VCM Tune, 3.9 diff, Remus 'Race' Exhaust Cat-Back System, Hi-Flo Cats, K&N panel filter and Pacemaker Tri-Y header. It will received a GTS Cam, Double Valve Springs, 10% underdriven pulley, Yella Terra Rockers 1.7 and double row timing chain shortly.

Thanks in advance.

Good choice!

The Harrop Stealth LS112 has been fitted to quite a few cars which have received ADR & emmission certification, and we will at some (future) stage be doing an ADR certification on the GTO I drive (LS2 kit). The product was designed to conform to all known & relevant ADRs. Unfortunately, they keep changing the rules, but as far as I know there is nothing new yet which will adversely effect the certification.

I have had both the Stealth cars I drive independantly road-worthy'd and never had an issue.
Keep in mind ... regardless of what product/kit you buy, the only absolute method of ensuring there is no problem is to have your individual car inspected and issued with a conformance certificate.
That is why we do not supply an "ADR Compliance certificate" with the kit, as it can only be truely claimed to be compliant when fitted to the exact same specification vehicle as tested. There are some who claim that their kit is "ADR Certified" which can sometimes be misleading. It is only actually ADR certified as fitted to the vehicle tested ... allbeit possibly ADR compliant.
The difference is in the words "certified" or "compliant".

There are a few installers & forum sponsors in your area who are getting good results. In no particular order:

- Mario at Autotechnique in Rowville
- Garry at Chevs in Carrum Downs
- Mick/Frank at APS in Frankston

I suggest getting a quote & reference from each of them. All have had customers who have reported good results. At this stage we do not do the installs here (too busy).

Also ...
Please do not do the underdrive pulley if going for our LS112 kit, as the drive ratio will then be incorrect for the supercharger.
And ...
Please consider your desired end result. We designed the LS112 kit as a moderate & durable system that could easily be transferred from vehicle to vehicle, and that looks and runs like it came from the factory as original equipment. It is not designed as an all-out race-winning dyno-king type of solution ... we are still tooling for that product (TSK140).
Most twin-turbo kits and our kits are not really "comparative" ... they have different objectives.

Hope this helps.
Regardless of your final decision, best of luck. There are some great choices to be made.:bravo:

Cheers ... Ken.
