Have just upgraded the front of my VU SS ute to a VY HSV, however I have a problem with the lights. I have used the correct (for VY HSV) lights though when trying the headlights I am only getting either low or high beam (not both on High beam). I am thinking that because mine doesn't have the auto on/off (night time - LDR) that there maybe a difference in the wiring.

Before I get real serious I am proposing that I solder in a diode in the High beam relay (input) that connects to the input of the low beam. This should rectify the problem but just checking if there is a knowledgable person that might know why there is a difference?

Any positive thoughts would be appreciated

Cheers

Greg

Mate they are the same as the monaro lights. There is a small and simple wiring change that you need to do to get them to work. I'm not sure what thread it is on but if you search for monaro light mods you will find it. I did it on my VT R8. Good luck

All sorted.......just link the 2 white wires (1 has a black trace) at the dipper switch and "wullah".
