Are they certified OK for road use? If not, isn't there a hefty fine for using non-accredited cats and who cops it?

they are adr approved so they are ok to use on the road. have a look my questions at the botton of the ebay add

they have metal mesh on the inside. is this good or is that ceramic stuff better

I believe that metal substrate is better, though I'm sure an exhaust guru can confirm this.

Either way, they don't look like a bad price at all.

Will this shape fit up in stock VY2/VZ position?
Having trouble with getting an idea if any old cat shape will fit?

Anyone know?
These are about what you'd expect to pay though.

im pretty sure they will only fit on pre vy2 i have recently installed try y pacemaker extractors and now have moved my cats from the vy2/vz position to under the car. that why im chasing these cats.

FWIW looking at my orignal cat pipes i dont think you could fit anything but the orginal shape cats up there mostly because of length of the after market cats. The extaust bends just after the stock cat which only gives you approx 40 cm of straight pipe after the manifold where the cat needs to go and thats approx the length of a after market cat alone. What most people do is open up there stock cats and change the cat pipes to something bigger

those cats have a ceramic core and s/steel case and are made in china , they have a metal ring around the core to hold the brick in place , they are beter than standard cats but not as good as true hiflo cat , they wont fit in the same place as vy2/vz , you can open up daewoo cats but the brick comes loose within 3 to 6 months

Now if you want a good hiflow cat you have to go for a large body cat eg:magnaflo,lukey,d/f ceramic cat , or for the best results go for a metal substate cat
the differance between the too ,ceramic have 400 holes per inch and metal substrate have 200 holes per inch , so metal cat have twice the flow for the same surface area

hope this helps

Thanks champ.

Do you know if magnaflows fit in VZ location? I assumed they wouldnt... :errr:

Might have to go factory LS2 cats (I believe they are 3")
I just cant bring myself to spend $500+install on cats to suit $580 headers!!!

no large body cats wont fit , but you can fit small body magnaflo wich are cheap or round body metal substrate not so cheap , iam geasing you have genie shorties , i have fitted small magnaflos to vzed with with these extractors and twin 2.5 systems and made 305 rwhp untuned

ls2 cats have 51mm inlet 70 mm outlet not 76mm[3"]

I think that is what happened with one of my cats, for a while I had something rattleing around in it so I removed it to find a solid peice of white something with holes in it just sitting there.
I dont want to do through that again.
