hey guys,
my first car will be a 2003 model corolla Levin hatch, (yes i realise its not an ls1 lol)

my plans are to add a new exhaust system, suspension and have a unichip installed. my question is. when such a chip is added on. does the car get tuned to run on a HI-PO petrol e.g 98 or 100 octane. and what kinda hp increase have ppl had with them.

i will be purchaseing the car in a few months for 9 grand (good ol kfc)

regards
Angelo

Id guess this is the wrong forum to be asking about making a corolla go faster, is that even possible?

Anything is possible as far as mods go but as for chipping you hear all sorts of things on chips.
Maybe you should look at spending your money on other performance mods.
Also try the toyota forums....plenty of stuff on there.

If your planning on spending so much money on mods - (exhaust, suspension chips arn't cheap) why are you using a Corolla as a base platform, for $9 grand there is plenty of cars out there that will be quicker. Not having a go but its kindy silly trying to make an NA corolla go.

usually i would agree with you merlin but the circumstances of this purchse make it worth while.

1. i am purchasing it from my aunt
2.it is a full maintained lease car
3. 1 owner
4. less than 30grand on the clock
5. not a mark on it
6.full serice history
7. fully optioned

9 grand is not bad for this 3 year old car. plus as a student, toyotas are reliable and thrifty on fuel(obviously different after mods but still pretty good)

plus i like the look of it.

thnx for the link hdj105
