Hi guys, this thread is kind of a two part question.
I have a VT Calais, and one of the backlights on my climate control system has died. I am trying to figure out how to remove the woodgrain section so i can get behind the climate control display and replace the globe. The woodgrain section i am trying to remove is the big plastic piece that runs around the guages, comes down over the centre vents and headunit and then past the gear shifter and power window switches.
I just cant figure out how to remove it. I have located two screws above the dash guages, there are another 2 or 3 screws in the fuse compartment under the steering wheel. How do i remove the rest of it? Do i need to remove the switches first? (headlight switch, hazard light switch etc...) if so how do i do that? How do i remove the whole center section? I cant see any screws.
Secondly, i had a thought. If im removing everything i might change all the globes to blue. I was thinking of buying blue light condoms (little colored gloves that fit over the globes) and replacing the green backing (on all the parts that are illuminated) with a heat resistant blue flim that i have.
Has anyone ever done this (or something similar) if so, were you happy/unhappy with the result? any tips/pointers? do you have any pictures?
