View Full Version : Fulda Tyres & Sydney outlet Camber kits.
Hi all,
I'm almost due for a couple of tyres. Having "won" a couple of sets of octagonal tyres when I bought down market in the past, I shy away from the unknowns.
I'm thinking aboiut Fulda Exelero 235/45 17" at $199 each from Bob Jane. All feedback on these tyres and this price gratefully received.
Also, as my rear tyres are not wearing evenly, I inquired about IRS camber correct kits. I've been told by a guy at Pedders that they can't be fitted to a Commode with Control Links. Does this sound right? The same guy said that the issue can be fixed with a 4 wheel alignment for $90. Any thoughts?

I was lookin into getting a set of these, they look pretty good, nice tread pattern, silica, high load and speed rating, rim protector.
They put this tyre on the Maybach TTV12 Coupe, if its good enough for a $1M supercar, hey, good enough for a Holden.

Your not that far off the Dunlops that seem popular. Are these available to you?

Pah, I put these tyres on mine about a month ago. The day I got them it was raining and went for a drive down the coast. They grip extremely well in the wet and the feel gives you a lot of confidence. I haven't noticed any bad road noise at all. I paid the same as you've been quoted. It was a big call to get them as I hadn't heard of them before at that stage, but I am quite pleased with their overall performance. As for wear, don't know, haven't had them long enough.

I was quoted around $280 fitted at my local Bridgestone tyre place for a 2 pt rear camber kit.
They refuse to fit 4 pt kit due to the diff problem. But yes, they can be fitted.

hye man how ya doing i was up for a new set of tyres about 6 months ago, i went down to my local bob jane (know the dealer) and had dunnies on it and was going to get another set, but he turned and said i can get u a better tyre for cheaper, they were fulda extremos, i just have to get it imported though because at that point they werent released, the fulda exelero, he said they just won european sports car tyre of the year, i got them $170 a tyre, but for anyone else they cost about $220 a tyre, great when u know people, and my tyre size are 225/50/16, but all i can say is they shit all over the dunnies less road noise more grip and one wicked tread pattern, and it makes a ute handle beautifully
cheers maccas

Pah,
I did a fair amount of research into this when I was getting my car lowered. Even with lowering which accentuates camber a fairly high percentage of VXII onwards (from memory, certainly VY/VZ) can get away without a camber kit because they already have enough adjustment in them with the extra link. My car with King Superlows is (supposedly) correctly aligned now even without a camber kit, though I will be keeping an eye on how the rears wear.
I'm no expert but if your car is not lowered you certainly should be able to get it sorted out with a 4 wheel alignment according to what I was told. As for not being able to fit a camber kit that is crap! It is apparently a messy job and I found big variations in quotes when I was checking around just in case I needed one - had to factor that in just in case.......... That was labour only as I already happen to have a camber kit.

FULDA CARAT EXCELERO 245/35 zr 19 $237 each from Bob Jane at Hoppers Crossing. They are very quiet. Make the cars steering feel light but accurate with a slight hesitation before turn in. Grip is great in the dry and can't find wet roads to try them on given our current drought conditions.
Overall I would say an excellent budget priced tyre.

Pah, I have a pair of Fulda 245/40 R19 on the rear of the ute. Overall I am very happy with them, they grip very well in wet and dry and seem to be wearing fairly well too. I got the Superpro camber kit in the ute (along with a heap of other suspension gear) so I cant really say what difference it made individually I’m sorry.
I also were told that Fuldas come out of the same factory as Pirelli, this was a good couple of weeks after I got them fitted so didn’t affect my decision.

I was told they are made in Germany and this is indicated on the sidewall as well.

I got the Fuldas the time before last. Best wet weather tyre I have used. I felt they were not as good nearing the end of their life though, and dropped away fairly quick.

I have previously had Fulda tyres and they were a very good tyre, great wet/dry handling and well priced.
