last night when i got home needed to access pms for a phone number.
went to pms but got a list of someone elses pms, some of which i could access and read.
sorry forget whos, cause i was in a panic with the fires and all, didn't want to waste time getting stuffed around by errors like my pms were missing. eventually a refresh got my pms back up.
i was cursing my head off before that :cussing: it was a long day, last thing i needed was no acess to my pms.

If it happens again find out who the user is and if they are on the same ISP as you etc... That could only happen if a proxy/cache gives you a cached page from someone else's session.

All that will happen is you will see cached pages .. you won't be logged in as that user and cannot post or do anything as that user.

i couldn't veiw new posts just before got the msg the search funtion couldn't find those options all the time.
then went to PMs got all of Fabians PMs and could read them last one was from VXss.
Then went to the main page shift refresh and new msgs worked again.
Did a post but saw the options were to get an email msg on any replys, checked my option it was no, guess thats fabians option also, shift refresh on a post screen cleared that.
so fabian are you on iprimus ? if i can see yours wonder if you can see mine lol.
oh yeah one more, no pop up i have a new PM either option is on.

As Sidey said, sounds like cached pages, and it looks like Iprimis is the culprit.
If anyone is actually logged in as someone else,,,post a message for us all to see:p or send a pm

Definatley cached pages and it isn't just iprimus. It is any ISP with a poorly configured cache. Caches are not supposed to store objects with a ? in the URL because that means it is a dynamic page. You won't be able to do anything as the other user only see a page that they have looked at, it is HIGHLY unlikley that you would see the content of someone's PM's you may see a list of the PM's but not be able to see the actual PM.
If you are truly paranoid you can turn off cookies and the forum software will use a cookie string in the URL now and this makes the URL fairly unique foe every user and page.

i could read the pms, well a couple anyway thought they were mine to start with.
i'm not so worried, its just if i tell someone that someone is a cxxx then they read it :p kidding lol
Hmmm...i am tipping that someone else uses your pc to login to the forum too so its wise to log off to clear the cookies and cache.
i have only logged on as boaring old me :(
