As I work for a major supplier to Ford, sometimes I have to drive my car to
Broadmeadows. Had it parked there last Wednesday - when it was time to go
home, I noticed my front left panel work all scratched and pushed in, and my rim badly scratched.
The new rims had been on my car for only 2 months! PISS$D OFF BIG TIME.
As usual, there was no note left on my windscreen from the perpertrator....All
I knew was that it was a white BA Falcon.
Going to work at Ford all day, i had been checking every white BA for any red marks.
BINGO! I spotted the car today - the driver of the car was about to take off - apparently, it is a company car - anyway, got all the details, and rang the company.
I spoke to someone in admin, and she asked me why it had taken me so long to get in touch with them.
Telling her i wasnt sure what she was on about, she told me the driver of the white falcon reported the accident to work, and also left his details on my windscreen for me to contact the company. Telling her that no details were left, she said this person
would be severly reprimanded...Yeah right!
Anyway, they admitted fault, and told me to get 2 quotes to give to there insurance company.
My question is - once i give them the quotes and they agree to pay for the damages,
can i ask them to pay me by cheque, or does the insurance company pay directly to the panel beaters?
The reason i ask this is that im sure my car will be off the road for a week -
and i need my car. I can only get it fixed early nov 2006 at the earliest.
At least if i have the money, I can decide when to have it fixed without dealing with the insurance company.

I can see how you knew it was white but how did you know it was specifically a BA Fraud?

Are you for real about waiting until nov 2006 for repair?

Take it to a crash repairer that has a loan vehicle.

I'd get it fixed ASAP. You could suffer rust problems if you wait too long.

Also, the quote will not last that long. $$$ now may equal $$$ + more $$$ come time to get it fixed later on.

I reckon you could get a loaner from the repairer.

Well, my mate at work saw a BA Falcon reverse from the space beside me - he saw it hit, but was too far away too get down the details.
But just say that the panel beater which gets the job has no loan vehicle?
My cousin is a panel beater, so at least he can make sure it doesnt rust till then.
In the worst case scenario, ill take my holidays soon to get it fixed.

I'd be telling said company who admitted fault that I require a rental car whilst mine was off the road. Worth a try

I would demand a rental car while if that was my car. I'm sure Ford would have one somewhere down the back of the yard.

Are you hoping to take a big cash payout and get a mate to fix it cheap and dodgy so you can pocket the difference?

what i would do is go to a repairer you know or one of the guys off hear and tell the repairer the story im sure they would be happy to add some money to the repair bill so that you can get a rental car while yours is getting fixed have done this a few times and always seems to work well

cheers
