Yeah, the prices that can be had seem to indicate this. Does anyone pay anywhere near RRP + ORC anymore?

I've always wanted to know how you guys feel about sub $50,000 Clubsports. Is it great because they're more affordable?; or
Terrible because it:
(a) Seems desperate
(b) If you paid 50G for an SS you feel ripped off and
(c) Wrecks HSV resale value?

Love the idea that you can buy a clubby for $50k :bounce: but C is the reality of the markrt place at this time:bawl:

Looks to me as though HSV had a few wheels left over from VY they needed to get rid of!!!
Not real keen on the Clubsports. They look like a half arsed attempt at giving a car street cred. Something we see a lot of ... Colours in bodykits that look bad and colour coded wheels. Not my cup of tea at all.
However ... the Skaife Senator ... I love the VZ Senators. If only I had the money!!!! Very nice, was wondering when Holden or HSV would put his name on something. Greg Murphy, Peter Brock and Wayne Gardner have had their names on fast Holdens

Here Here ! HSV realised they could make much more money out of stickers, colour coded rims and LE name tags than the "good old limited edition cars".
There's a sucker like me born every minute but surely our numbers must be getting low.

White wheels - foooly sick maaate ! And what's with the unpainted highlights down the skirt ??? :spew:
I was told how silly I was (by a dealer of course) getting an 'old 05' R8, when I had ordered & was getting an MY06 (but plated '05) Club. Gee, glad I went the 'old'. Those indicators & stripey skirts are really worth holding out for....
But like many have said - need to shift old stock & I like the caption: "These models mark the very last of the Z Series ClubSport and Senator series to roll off HSV’s Clayton production line". There is only 50 of each, so they aren't going to make any more VZ's past next week ??
Should be some fantastic prices on VZ HSV's shortly. R8 for $50k anyone ???
Seems a shame really, they are just going to crowd the marketplace with different models of the same thing & reduce the supposed HSV 'exclusivity'. I know they are just trying to shift them, but do they have to be so blatant at the marketing crap ?
A bit of a let down. Wheres the meaty enhancements? How can a "HRT" Clubsport have no engine differences etc.
COOKIE!

Because if they do they will exceed 300kw and they arnt alowed to as i have been told it has something to do with the vette with the samer motor,

The 2 Clubbies are a real big disappiontment from HSV, sorry guys:(
White wheels, they don't really suit any coloured car (my opinion) & the iron frost colour doesn't have the appealling effect as the name sounds. It looks from a close up just like a boring grey colour!
The orange strip, come on. It just doesn't do the HSV any good or are they copying FPV?
The logos on the rear of them are crap to. What are they doing?
Skaife's Senator doesn't impress me either.
These 3 are special edition HSV cars, why haven't they been improved?
Engine power increase (310/315 KW's) & torque increase (540/550 NM's), new design engine cover or twin covers, improved header/exhaust package, improved air intake & what about the interior!

When you look at all the recent Limited Edition offerings from HSV, there are no performance enhancements to any of them. SV6000, Yellow Thunder Maloo,GTO LE, and now the Limited Edition Senator and Clubsports. I love the way they use the "Race Relations" tag ...again. Get your orders in now, because they are in the rare colours of Sting Red and Phantom Black.
Quote "They are unapologetic in their unique race team and performance oriented specification packages". WHO WRITES THIS CRAP ? The same goose that came up with the slogan "Are you VXR enough ?" I'd imagine. WTF does it mean? I see the VXR has been given the nod. By the time it gets here, it will be about 2 generations behind the opposition in performance. If someone put white wheels and painted the inserts on the side skirts white of their red Clubsport, it would be posted up on here for everyone to put shit on. HSV do it and it becomes an LE. I'm starting to lose faith...rapidly. If you look at their Website (HSV section), the main highlighted vehicles are The VZ LE cars (standard 297kw), The VXR (4 cyl), Malibu Boats (boats, Huh ?), the Clubsport R (track car), GTO Le and HSV K2 (track ride car). Then look at FPV's site. If they don't lift their game, half of their customers will be driving around in Fords and the diehard HSV customers will all be driving 297kw Black and Red LE's.

I too got the email from HSV yesterday and I gotta say it is a real gimicky attempt by HSV. A slightly different paint job and coloured wheels will not make me jump at buying one. Besides if we where to buy one there could be a murdur at the Moore household over which one to get as Wife and Son are HRT and Me and Daughter are HSVDT (Go Tander !!)

My thoughts entirely jona- these cars are not credible limited editions- they are simply "STICKER SPECIALS"-- and by the way, I'm an HSV enthusiast, but not a fan of this type of rubbish.

At least HSV's marketing department are trying... Pity tho the attempts appear nothing more than hollow grabs for cash, with no real extensive 're-engineering' of their products for use as a limited edition model.
Leftover repainted rims and extra lashings of paint. Woopty-blardy-doo!
A real HRT/HSVDT Clubbie would have Darrell Eastlake style huuuuuuge brakes (not just big), some sort of zorst, better shifter again (for the manual) and maybe even different gearbox oil/fluid to free it up even more, to maybe even some sort of interior redecoration, maybe a different instrumentation cluster.
Sorry HSV, but you've gotta try harder. We know you have to shift these VZ-chassis cars pre VE arrival, but you can do better than sticker specials.
Because if they do they will exceed 300kw and they arnt alowed to as i have been told it has something to do with the vette with the samer motor,
Ive never heard that before. They had 300kw in the Calloway GTS back in 2001 with the VX so whynot now?

It must be my night for bagging HSV, but this very sad.
As other people have noted, with the VE around the corner, who is really interested in a VZ? It hammers the resale values. I appreciate it is hard but HSV would do well to wind back production now and then crank it up to overdrive in about June building VE's, they would still produce plenty of cars and keep respect of existing owners. HSV would like to think that it is gaining on BMW M division but you never see silly discounts on M3's or M5's. When BMW-M do a limited edition it is something like the CSL, a light weight street/club racer that keeps the production line ticking over until the new model arrives and means they can cut back on the old model M3.
For those of you bagging the Astra VXR, this is the sort of thing that can keep HSV sales up if they were to cut production of the Commodore based cars. BMW-M benefits from the fact if the M3 sales are going to wind down then they have M5 or M6 and soon M2 (1 series M) to produce. HSV suffers from being a one base car company.
Cheers,
Matthew

Std 06 clubby with the vygts rims seems a bit better package than these specials and they will move these (clubbies) a bit easier than the specials - not a lot of visual change to a vy except the ls2. they need to get a bit more serious with the price - 68k drive away std clubbie - born yesterday - think i will wait for the VE.
might go and have a look/drive of ford 6 speed a/m

Trying to give you as little as they can for maximum dollars. By the time the VE arrives, half of their loyal and potential customers will be driving FPV's. I am a Fanatical Holden fan, I have owned 3 HSV's and my business partner has had 2. Last time he bought an Evo 8 and i bought the Senator. If HSV keep this sort of crap up (and I can't see them changing) next time I would buy a standard Holden product and modify it myself or buy an FPV.

I am one who just bought a VZ Skaife Senator, #47
I just love it, and yes i could of waited 4 months to get a VE, but not at the price is just bought the Senator.

IMO The white wheels on the clubby look great! So does the Senator. The white side skirts are a bit of an afterthought - I have seen them at the local dealer (All three cars) and visually they do stand out a little, which is all HSV are trying to do to offload the rest of the VZ's. I also think that the VE HSV's will come with colour coded 20" and 21" wheels on some models.

I like the look of the Skaife Senator, but what's the go with VZ Senators only being available with the Auto? If I could get one with an M6 I'd seriously consider it.

I have been in 1 of these fitted with a small cam, tricked up auto and Harropp blower and it was a fantastic fun ride...this package was more usable and driver friendly then the same set up in a manual car...if you ever go down that route...you'll be far from dissapointed.
I have some phone video footage of this car and another senator an a cammed ss ute taking offf and its some awesome footage...would love to know how to get it up on here

Just purchased an HRT Z Clubsport today, 48 of 50, traded my much loved series 1 VX SS. Only had 48k on the clock. The white wheels are interesting, I think they look hot, may be hard to keep clean, guess I will have my work cut out for me. So much grunt over the standard VX I could really feel it. First time I have driven a manual version, felt ok. Big saving over the original sticker price. I know its the old model now but not really interested in VE. Have seen the car in the showroom for a while, didn't even look twice at it until the price dropped. I guess die hard HSV fans who payed the big dollars a while back for these models might find reason to critisize but I don't really care.

No real need for criticism at all there mate, you've purchased a brand new car at a much reduced rate - clever actually.
Enjoy your new purchase and......

So start a new thread and put in some piccies.
