Hi Guys, this is my first post on the forum.I have just recieved my 2004 Chevy Lumina SS which as you may know is a Holden Commodore SS, just rebadged.

I am loving the car at the moment but was wondering if you guys could answer me one question.I want to do a LS1 Edit on the car and there are some good tuners here in South Africa, i was just wondering if i kept everything else stock would i notice any performance or fuel consumption differences with the LS1 Edit alone.

Here are a few pics of my car aswell.

Thanks Guys

Hi and welcome to the forums :). I would say yes definately get the edit done you will notice a heap of difference even if you dont do any other mods.

I have a Monaro (VY) and when it was totally stock with just HSV cold air (sealed at the top which helps allot in hot weather) and two hole mod the edit (MAF) gave me an extra 28kw. It also gave me much better drivability and picked up lots of low/mid torque. Mine was also an auto so the lazy shifts were fixed.

Nice ride you have and will be even better after a few simple airbox mods and an edit. The exhaust on your car already flows well so there are less gain to be made there.

You can either do the 2 hole mod on the Monaro box or buy the HSV one. This is the same except it is sealed at the top so you are not sucking hot air from inside the engine bay. It seems to help allot in Australia as we have hot climates and would probably benefit your car too.

Thanks for the replies guys.My car is probably going in next week for the LS1 edit. I have heard that the Holden Commodores were changed slightly around April 2004.Do you guys know what exactly was changed.Mine is a post may 2004.
