I know we are all (mostly) holden fans here, but I found this video and thought it was pretty cool and interesting.
Its always good to know about the other cars in opposition.

The Boss sounds good but what a slug ! The Turbo goes well though. Both the V8 and Turbo 6 Ford utes look tough from front on but from side on YUK ! That 2 piece body looks industrial. What's with the spinning of the wheels at the start ? They could both get a job doing voice overs for Japanese Martial Arts movies.

the boss has an amazing sound. if someone could mod a gt to do a 12 flat pass without too much expense, itd be worth getting one. leaves gen3's in the dirt for sound.

That favorite quote is drawing quite a long bow wouldnt you think PH?and as for the video,if any of you think that watching those two race is cool then make sure you adopt there launch method if you line me up at the drags:flip3:

yea im not sure about the launch method but it makes the cars look like they have more power by wheelspining halfway down the track

Settel down, old mate. I didn't actually believe the quote... I just liked it!

Didn't say anything about watching them being cool, either. I questioned the wheelspin as much as anyone else. Trying to look good for the cameras, methinks.

So when is HSV going to increase it's torque rating instead of increasing the power/kw rating all the time???

HSV only go with bigger V8's all the time for the power factor, but the torque doesn't seem to get any higher.

HSV should start to learn from this!

Yeah it's a cool vid, could of thrown a Z Maloo R8 in for the hell of it though!
90% of 530nm available from as low as 1600rpm isn't too bad invasionss.

it might have 550nm, but ls2's have 530nm, 90% available as v8 jet says at 1600rpm. people have been dropping very low 13's in stock ls2's all over, have stock typhoons been doing the same? just curious.

From FPV's website:

All 550Nm on tap from just 2000 rpm and remaining constant all the way through to 4250 rpm.

At time of launch, the highest torque output of any production engine ever built in Australia. Even more staggering is the engine's ability to produce 80% of its maximum torque at 1500 rpm and over 98% at 1750 rpm. Total Performance meets the turbo.


So 440Nm at 1500 RPM and 539Nm at 1750 RPM


Oh yeh, and many Typhoons have been running low 13 second passes of late.

A few weeks back their was a few witness's to a Typhoon with apparantly just a filter change running a 13.1 at calder,

I know it's not a GT, but one of the members here has done a 11.9 from his XR8 (boss 260) with just bolt ons, edit and a change to cam timing (standard cams used) minus tailgate

He's a member here and converted to his F6 not long ago
