Anybody caught the comparison in the latest Wheels mag between our mighty Monaro, fully imported Mustang GT and the Nissan 350Z.
Quote; "The Monaro eats Mustangs and spits out Nissans"
Interesting read given the Mustang landed here costs nearly double the value of my CV8Z and still gets hosed.Obviously nothing wrong with the Aussie legend for value for money.

Umm, I think noting the 'value for money' of the Monaro over the Mustang is stating the bleeding obvious, yeah? No doubt the Monaro is the better car overall, but the Mustang is a very low volume imported with a complex RHD conversion so naturally is going to be very pricey for what it is. RHD-converted Vipers were what, $250K? How much is a RHD-converted Corvertte, $150K odd? I think the people who ultimately purchase those sort of conversions do so because they just want that kind of car. and they can afford the price tag.
I do like the look of the Mustangs though. I'd love a RHD converted Lightning but again, those suckers are $100K+.

Of course the Mustang is much cheaper over here, but you can't spit in any direction without seeing one. Conversely, our ride is much rarer, better quality, and few 05 Mustangs want to tangle with me! And my GTO is pretty much stock.
That said, I like the look of the new Mustang (retro) but you can see where the bean counters had their input.

Given how common a mustang is over here... i really don't see why you would want to spend more than what it costs to get into a Monaro. I understand there is costs and alot of them in the RHD conversion but gees for what is essentially a cheap v8 coupe it is a bit much.
Now if you want to tell me F series trucks cost alot... no problem those things haul a hell of alot and a farmer could use an F series instead of a tractor :)
