Has anyone ever had a clunking noise in their front suspension when driving in/after rain? I've had the SV8 since November but as I still haven't sold the Statesy, I'll use it when the rain moves in the keep the SV8 clean. But in the last week I've driven the SV8 in the rain a few times, and it seems to develop a clunking noise when I'm driving in the rain, or after driving in the rain - only when I turn right.. I'm just trying to work out when it could be caused by and/or if its common. Any ideas? Also, anyone know where I should take it to be checked out?
It still drives as normal, just an annoying noise. Also, doesn't do it at freeway speed, just when turning into sidestreets or parking.
my SS has it in the front right & i'm not sure either
bought it 2nd hand 9mths ago, haven't had it looked at yet
maybe get it repaired under warranty but i need to know what it is first
knocks when turning wheels left to right at about walking pace

Thanks, sounds like it might be a fairly common problem. I'll give that a go and see if I can find out more.. might drop into pedders next weekend and get them to have a look at it also.

Thanks Stew, I'm hoping there its just dust getting in now, as it seems to have started doing it in the dry too. I'm wondering it some dirt got in after driving in the rain and is just stuck there now.
Sounds like the stabiliser bar link pins/rubbers shot. Another forum member who will be nameless:doh: , fitted one to another forum members Grange and put the retaining washers upside down which cut into the bush. Cheers Chev

Yes I have the same problem and as chev said it is the front sway bar links, I chew through a pair every 6 months. I'm getting some hard nolothane ones next time.

Thanks, I'm going to arrange to have it checked and will mention what you said - hopefully that should fix the problem.
Hey XsPwr2W8, is your ride the red S/C SV8 featured in 'street commodores' by any chance?

Oh I wish! Na mines black with a beaten up clubby kit on it, not exactly show car material.
