Have noticed recently when I push the calais and it kicks down to 1st gear when it's about to change into 2nd gear it sits in neutral for just under a second and you can hear the rev limiter kick in. Have also noticed this between 3rd and overdrive on the freeway. Does this sound like the auto is gone, car has 68K, trans fluid is fine as is coolant levels?
I'm going to ring Holden tomorrow morning and get them to look at it but am already waiting for the "that's normal for these cars" line....
Car is bog stock except for maf pipe and redback 2.5" exhaust

There’s a good chance the gearbox shift's can be improved 10 fold with an edit tune before writing the bands off….….unlikely Holden’s available software can do diddy squat to aid you here…..I recommend you seek the advice of one of the Forum Sponsors

Thanks, might get Holden to check it anyway just in case as I do plan on getting an edit soon along with some extractors.

holy threadming batman...but while we are on it, i just presumed it was normal....for example, car slowing winding up in second, hammer it and it stalls for a bit, then slings you back....the stall lasts about .5 of a second, sometimes 3/4 of a second....maybe that is too much of a stall before kicking down a gear? the higher gears do it more quickly and smoothly, its just this lower gear change going back to 1...mine has done 113kms.

Sounds exactly how my ute was acting before i only had first gear left. I thought it was great when it was holding gears a little longer. It was snapping sideways into second and I was thriving on it. Stupid me. :bawl:
Expensive things to fix. My box shit itself before i new about this site and I was shafted $3300 for a new one. Stupid me again.:bawl:
The ute runs perfect now but I'd probably do something before it goes otherwise you will wreck things that don't need to be wrecked.

Did end up taking it to Holden and they gave me their usual it's all fine so at least if anything happens they've got it on record. Ended up getting an edit, 3.73 gears and all the other usual bolt ons, shifts are now heaps better in power mode and even in economy.
Did have to go back to get the shift points adjusted again as it was hitting the limiter on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts before changing when selector was in 3rd.
