guys

had the unfortunate incident of being stranded in a mall today with the car refusing to start.

When it did start the minute i dropped to reverse it stopped...

called NRMA and they claimed it has something to with the alarm...

but eventually got it to start drove down the carpark and put it straight onto a tow truck...to holden dealership...

anyone have any idea what could be the reason at all
the battery was replaced two months ago

just put in a camshaft abt three weeks

car went to all the service and given clean bill...

bit concerned as warranty period has just finished as well

any tips would be appreciated as always

thanks

Get one of those old crank handles they used to use for starting, shove it in the cat's exhaust and start winding. Betcha it starts running and then goes like hell!!

Happenend to me once. I'd left the car unlocked all night and went to start it up in the morning and it just would not start. It'd kick over once and stop. Tried for like 20 mins and ended up taking the keys out and locking it. Unlocked it again 5 mins later and viola! It turns out it was the immobiliser. So next time it happens, try locking and unlocking the car.

just follow up ...

the reason the car was mis-firing was b/c one of the O2 sensor was broken this is according to holden so they replaced that

as for the original problem...the alarm system is stuffed Quiktrax need to pay them a visit to get the problem sorted...

thanks
