[VTSS350]

I went down to wakefield race track on monday with a few friends.

In out group was 2 clubmans, a porshce boxxer, WRX, B4 turbo, and an MX5 and of course my supercharged commodore.

There was also a brand new manaro with only 1200ks on it, a powerdyne supercharged ute, a porshce GT3, magna, mazda 121 and a few other open wheelers.

It was a great day with some awesome racing and a few incidents.

The new manaro blew his diff after only 10 laps and then the supercharged ute hit the tyre barrier at the top of the straight.

There was a guy standing behind the tyre barrier at the top of the straight with a video camera when it happened. He came round the last courner and bagged up the rears the car started to loop and then he over corrected it snapped back and sent him sideways into the tyre barrier. The fibre glass ute cover flew off and onto the track. To give him some credit though he used a heap of race tape to hold the front bar on and then got back out there.

Was really good to race against so many different cars. We all had different strengths and weekness.

Cant wait to get out there again.

Sounds like a great day. Do you know what sort of times you and the other cars were doing?

Clubman - 1.09
B4 Turbo - 1.18 with a set of comp tyres
GT3 - 1.11
Me - 1.17 with cheap tyres. I couldnt get any traction and blew chunks out of the. Next time would try and get hold of a decent set of tyres.

Was the GT3 a yellow one, NSW rego, with semi-comps?

Yep it was yellow from NSW with semi-comps. Last time he took me for a drive around the track in it.

It made me want to sell the commodore straight away.

Yeah its the same one that was out there when I went for my first ever trackday. He was doing 1:12's on his 3rd time to Wakefield. I went for a ride as passenger and it scared me how fast it was.

BUT I did a few suspension mods before my second outing to Wakefield and bought a very used set of semi-comps and a second hand set of full slicks. I was also doing 1:12's with this setup.

So no way don't sell the commodore. Just chuck a few grand of mods at it and some semi-comp tyres and you to can be lapping with him for fair bit less outlay. You already have plenty of power so just the handling and brakes now.
