Peoples thoughts on silver & odysee VZ monaro colours?

Hey there guys

mini poll i guess, cause i would love a black VZ monaro, i also like the silver and odysee, but i want differing opinions on what people think bout silver and odysee, and any other colour?

All look good. Odyssey is a rarer colour. That might make a diff to you, or not.

I love black and have a black ute. But if I was to buy another ute I would get a silver 1. Black shows up everything. As soon as you wash it 10 minutes later it will have dust on it. Just to hard to keep clean.

If its a daily driver then a lighter colour is the best. My silver stato always looks pretty clean - even if its been driven in the rain etc.
On the other hand, I only drive the (black) Monaro a day or so every week & its kept garaged. Still looks as though it needs a clean or day or so after I've washed it - even if its kept out of the weather (damn cat likes to sleep on the sunroof & leaves paw prints everywhere).
Go for the colour you like & learn to live with I say....

While I really like it generally, silver has been overdone IMHO for many years now, especially in the "prestige" and euro car ranks.

Having said that, the GMH silver is a beauty, nice and bright and really suits the Monaro's lines in particular.

But the VZ in Odyssey is absolutely awesome I think, and as has been said, is different from the norm and hence rare.

No offence to the Quicksilver owners out there, but I personally think its a little common, and the Monaro looks awesome in Odessy.

Go the Odessey a very nice colour, I like silver but too common, you stop at the lights and look around and every 2nd car is silver, don't get me wrong the silver is nice just a lot of it around.

Go the odysee colour its rarer and looks better, way too many silver cars out there and they just dont stand out. As for black it does not show up the curves of the monaro ;)

Odysee's different, silver looks great on the monaro, just too overdone elsewhere, I'm over fusion, red- classic racer colour, black- too dark for me.

we've got Oddysey on the Adventra, which at the time of ordering they werent even in production in Oddysey and it had to be specially ordered in that colour - now I see Adventras and Crewmans especially in Oddysey, its a really awesome colour

I drive a heron white VX, I love the white for some reason. Ive heard its Australias most common colour, it represents your typical happy-go-lucky hard working Aussie or some BS, I dunno, when it comes to the SS (or in my case SS bodykit) I think the white with black headlight inserts look mean

Weve also got a quicksilver SV6, which is now overtaking the impulse blue as mentioned, its becoming too common now. Ive noticed - almost every SV6 I see now is silver. Being a company car its not cleaned very often (used to be but the novelty of a new cars worn off) but it hides the dirt well

Me personally dont like black, I dont know why, it just doesnt really show the highlights like the black headlight inserts on a white car. Plus when its left out in the heat a black car burns on the inside baby, no offence to those who like the black car

I'd go Oddysey, we saw it on a LX8 Adventra and decided that even though they werent in production on the lower spec SX6 thats the one we wanted and everyone notes that its a nice colour

well i have a Quicksilver VZ CV8Z......and love it! It shows off the classic lines of the Monaro best IMHO! Not to mention that in years to come, its a colour that will always be popular!

I also was thinking of black when i bought mine - but as good as it looks when clean, its too hard to keep clean! And shows up scratches and swirls in the paint too easy too!

Odyssey is an unusual colour - sortof grey-blue. I dont mind it actually, if the CV8Z had come in this colour i probably wouldve chosen that instead of silver!

I was also considering Fusion at one point......a clean FUSION CV8Z is just a sight of beauty! But again the question is if in 5+ years, will it be like TIGER and HOTHOUSE or FLAME and just annoy you every time you look at it? Maybe / Maybe not!

At the end of the day - whatever color you go with - the VZ Monaro is a car you will keep looking at from every angle....all the time! In fact, every time i get out and walk away - i always look back! :D

I love grey's, partifularly on Monaros. Which is kind of odd considering I have a Flame one :doh: (but really the right car came up in that colour which is why I ended up with it). So I really like odessey, but I like turbine the most! :headbang:

VZ CV8 Quisksilver with red leather, saw one last night in my mates carpark.....mmmmm looked awesome!

Definitely the odessy as I've only seen one up this way and IMHO I think it gives the VZ Monaro a much more classier look.:cool:

Silver seems to have replaced white as the new fleet car colour,
well our last three Commo fleet cars were silver anyway. Must
admit though, that Silver Monaro posted by Ghosn looks pretty
good. I am a sucker for punishment though and will stick with
the nightmare colour, BLACK.

Just another angle on the colour choice - I've got Odyssey at the moment and while I absolutely love the colour and the look, its a buggar to keep clean - always showing the dirt. Had a silver holden a few cars ago, and seem to remember that it was much cleaner colour.
