I have a 1981 1100 Katana.

Has Tingate racing system and a lumpy cam.
Custom Gun metal grey paint and spoked wheels

How about a pic. I love those things. I bought a 1000 Katana in 1983. I should have kept it they only made a limited number to homologate the bike for the new 1000cc Superbike rules of the day. :bawl:

Had a fair sort of range for 9 years of riding and enjoyed em all.

Started on a Yamaha Jog
1996 Suzuki Bandit 600 - No mods

2002 Suzuki GSXR1000 - Custom high mount yoshimura system, secondary butterflys removed, gps done, teka tuned and K&N filter.

2004 Suzuki SV650 - Custom tail tidy, custom mini indicators, yoshi pipe and custom stainless cut mount, Metisse oil and rad guards, streetfighter mirrors.

1998 Honda Dio - cheap transport and wheelie bitch. Too much fun, best whilst pissed and riding in my ol backyard.. which was actually a park :D

2004 Suzuki GSXR750 - Yoshi system, BNC race filter, ohlins cartridge forks, ohlins rear racing shock, polished wheels, hyperpro top mount steering damper, zg screen, carbon guards, pcIII, r6 throttle tube mod, oggy knobs and some other things i can't remember. Spent way too much on this one. Was basically setup to race

ANNNNNDDD.....after nearly 20months of being bikeless to buy a frikkin house....I have just purchased!!

2007 GSXR1000K7 - Polished wheels, oggy knobs, Puig tinted screen and have a heap of gear coming from Japan atm but its a few weeks to a couple of months away yet so can't wait.

Currently have an Aprilia RSVR 2002 last of older fatter shape. Now referred to as factory version - Ohlins legs, Ozwheels, power commander, max carbon fibre, rearsets, race pattern shift, smaller counter shaft gearing for more lift, hand made titanium over single exhaust - last dyno was 130 rwhp. I just wish i could ride to the level of the bike.

Is that the model with the spoked wheels? I hear they're starting to climb in value.

They looked horn when they first come out, and they still do today. And I bet that exhaust note sounds as tough as!!

Gidday,

96 YZF1000R; Full exhaust with appropriate jetting. Removal of the Exup leaves it a little sluggish off the line, but from 180km/h onwards she's a ripper. (Speeds indicated only performed at racedays on circuits).

Stay upright !!

In the beginning, there was a B40-it was junk, but it went a while. Then there was an R60/2-heaven on earth if ever such a thing, a Bridgestone 50, a C77, a Piaggo 3 wheeler, an ST90, a C90, an XT250, a GN250, an XR75k4, another XT250, a Z200, a DT175, a 3rd XT250 and 2 SR250's & a K100. Current stock; 1 XT250 '81 and 1 SR 250 '80, plus 1 more of each similar on hold for a friend, and the K100 for my interstate brother. I would have bought many of the last 6 yrs cheapest bikes in the free paper, all << $400-, and almost all of them salvable and made going for a small profit. The last SR cost $100- + 3 hrs fiddling + $15-parts and fuel for it, and 2 hrs travel to collect it. It runs well, the top end is a recent rebuild, and it needs just tyres, battery, rego, mirrors and some decent handlebars. The OEM exhaust is still near perfect, and it's 27 yrs old!!!!!!! It will do me well for a long time, as I have a shedfull of parts and can make electronic ignitions as needed. The Lord is kind.

Hiya guys,

Have had this since Anzac Day! She's a 2007 Kwaka ZX14 Ninja. Has Yoshi cans, oggies, "Brock" lowering kit with front tie down strap and rear sprocket! I also put a 200tyre on the rear which replaced the 190 as took it to the drags and the professional photographer was there so I ended up smoking the whole tyre just for bloody photos!! It was worth it, as the photos came out great!! Just ordered a heap of "blingy" bits incl chrome mirrors, bubble screen, adjustable kick stand and front and rear braided brake lines from 58Cycle in the USA. Will post more pics once the accesories are on :)

for $8500 On road (did a deal....) I am extremely pleased!

ZX900r 98,

Full Megacycle race system,Factory ignition advance kit,Braided lines,re-jetted and played with carbs,Racetech springs and gold valves and Headstock modification setup by Terry Hay,Pyramid rear hugger & undertray,Rearsets and last but not least a seat gripper so the occasional pillion has half a chance of staying on.

Considering it's nearly 10 years old now(had it since new) it still keeps up easily with new R1's and GSXR's and thats with my 6'4' 160kg carcass onboard.
I'll post some pics after I give it a wash as it is disgusting at the moment.

new R1 makes 156HP atrw new GSXR1000 makes 165HP atrw Id say you have met a few riders who you are way better than , a good gsxr rider should be faster in a straight line and round bends if he can ride OK

Tinted screen (bubble in most pics, have tinted normal profile now)
Tinted headlight covers
Harri's grips
Carbon bling bar ends
Carbon heel guards
Carbon tank protector
Rim stripes

Sitting at the shop ready for me to pick up also

Hi Guys,

New to the forum.

I ride an 06 Yamaha R1 Aniversery colours Yellow/Black/White.

This is one sweet ride, I binned the first one, came around a bend hot in Hoddles Creek in Vic and hit a Landcruiser that was on the wrong side of the road.

I broke everything and spent 9 months in hospital. All better now and insurance company bought me a new one and I'm back riding again now.

I keep an eye out now for those rouge Landcruisers but otherwise it's business as usual. :1peek:

Cheers

After a google seach or Power Commanders and a read of a post here I had a little look about. Was interested in the (now very old news) about the netrider thing, verrryyy interesting and now makes sense.

As I don't see and intro forum (if there is just kick me) I live on the sunshine coast (yeah raining for a week now) and ride Kawasaki's. I am founder of the GTR-AUS group for the Kawa GTR's and founder of FarRiders.

But here is my current bikes, 1000GTR and 1400GTR

I have a Ducati 1098 S Tricolore with termis on it. Sounds awsome and goes like a cut cat.
Also a 2006 KTM 525 EXC with super moto wheels on it. Goes real well.
Will post photos when I work out how to.

Unbelievable bike.

nice track bike the duke but a prick of a thing on the road , unless your in the cafe latte cruiser club.

A mate bought the tri colour one when it was released and put the termi pipes on it , had a ball at Phillip Island ride day but has only ridden it twice on the road , now its up for sale $39000 with the std stuff as well

and weve been riding for over 35 years and raced most of it its just not a rider friendly street bike (especially on the wrists) and its just too dam expensive to have as a track bike only.

I have had my 1098 for 5 months now and its not that bad on the wrists.
Certainly better than the 916 or 999.
Can't ride for hours on end anyway, the range is only 130 kms to the low fuel warning.

I ordered my 1098 in Jan 07 and they were in short supply. it was hard to haggle on price.
I had to pay recommended retail for mine, but I pushed for a free 1000km service.
Mine took 7 months to arrive, hope you are patient.

I waited for the first service before installing the Termi's.

The 1098R looks great and is a step up on the 1098.

When you go for your first ride, watch out for the power of the brakes, they are amazing.

Thanks for the feedback.

Have been told to expect 4 months(friend at work has 1098 and also said 7mths for his) Also said after mods it was the most powerfull bike he had ridden (dangerous for newcomers)in relation to brakes/power band etc:rofl:

Right on with retail price. All quotes have been identical.
Deal will be based on "extras"

should be here 13th March as there is NIL stock.

Had a choice of colour ... lime green, like green and lime green ... so I took the lime green.

Have ordered a 705cc big bore kit from the USA so it should arrive about the same time as the bike.

Happy riding

Hi, Im pretty new to the forum as well...
Got a VY ss with 20's and the usual bolt on mods....
My bike is an 06 ZX10R ninja with power commander titanium exhaust and carbon fibre cans, Goes like a rocket.......when I pin the throttle i dont ride it, it rides me:). The thing I love about these new injected crotch rockets is they can violently propell you to a 10sec quarter, but be tame and well mannered for a slow sunday cruise (albiet, a bit hard on the wrists)!!!!

Picked up my 06 ZX10R Yesterday with 6500 km's on the clock and with a heap of mods already done, carbon cans, carbon hugger, gold anodised adjustable levers and rear sets, tinted screen, gold chain and sprokets, power comander, digital gear indicator, rear seat cowl and a dyno sheet with 164.8 hp, so for a change i don't have to do the mods.

I've had a look on the net but can't seem to find a full range of specs on it, like what it weighs, how much power it had stock and would anyone know how big the tank is and what it's range would be, i rode it from Perth to Kalgoorlie and fuel light was coming on after about 190 km's but when i filled it it didn't take anymore than about 10-11 ltrs.

Cheers

Is that because your comparing it to your YZ? because that was 4 years behind!!! hahahah

KTM's are great though, awesome engines and great components such as hydraulic clutch etc.......the suspension can be a bit sketchy for racing, especially the linkageless shock! but that's getting better too.

what position did they come in the last superbike round ?
what about Moto GP (they are on there way I know) :1peek:

07 Gsxr 1000 (Best all rounder)

As for the K1200, it's all relative, outrun 1 on the putty road, does that mean the duke's a better bike. Of course not..a lot depends on the rider and the size of their .... and the amount of points on your license

Really? I find the ass end on my '06 EXC tracks beautifully, I throw the 300 through bush/enduro, motocross even some supercross type tracks, I haven't had it properly set-up either (valves and springs could use weight adjustment). The front end different story... However the 08 KTM range have lost the twitchy front end feel, bout time too, I've ridden 505 & 530 both tracked great for lender's not set-up for me.

I just keep a screw driver in my bag, always adjusting the suspension to suit, can do wonders!

Hear you there, its good for them too, those rubber caps on the bottom of forks are great for trapping water and seizing the adjustment screw, as I regularly adjust for the different riding I'm gonna be doing I squirt some DWF (WD40 type product) in there.

Recently bought myself an ex Sapol Bmw R1150rt 2006 model. I was always a sports bike rider but getting old now and the old body doesn't like leaning forward too much now. Tried a Yamaha cruiser last year but wasn't keen so bought this.
Nice upright riding position which is extremely comfortable. Has electric adjustable screen, heated grips for those cold days.
Mods include lots of little holes in the dash, front guard etc.
I know of the cop that had it and he was anal so i was happy to get this one. clutch and gearbox were replaced just before decomissioning.
Not sure whether to get it painted yet but probably will in the future.

Yep definately thought about Termi's but it doesn't get ridden much any more. Currently living in Thailand and unfortunately bike is in OZ. Get's ridden maybe twice a year for a few weeks when I go home. Not sure if I can justify the price for little use. The standard mufflers have been cored so it sounds ok anyway. Might have to bring it over to Thailand cos i am getting a bit sick of riding my Kawasaki KSR. Only 110 CC. Ha ha. Sorry its a generic picture, don't have any of mine.

Pictures honestly don't do this bike justice. To put it's size into perspective, I'm 6'2" (or 189cm) and weigh 120kg.

Pick it up tomorrow!!! My mate's picking up a GSX-R 1000 in black and gold...

I think those things are quicker off the mark than the Bussa , all i can say is careful with it especaly if you have had a brake of a few years from bike riding and when you do crank the throttle open HANG ON!

Oh and new tyres have slippry crud on them to protect them while they aren"t being used , but i am sure the dealer will give you the run down on that .

Some better pics of my new B-King and my best mate's new Gixxa thou...

After a detail too - I have swapped to the rear cowl instead of the pillion pad and removed the pillion foot pegs. We each have a tail tidy on order to piss of that stupid looking plastic rear end. He also ordered some black exhaust hangers without foot pegs for his. These are both such SWEET bikes. We love em!

Na i only just bought it and getting used to riding it. I do want to take it to the track once I feel comfortable with it.

I would love to see if i can put the R6 in the tray of the ute. I think it will fit with the tailgate down. Scariest bit would be getting it on and off from that height.

I actually purchased a full carbon fibre ferring kit for it that I will be putting on next month. Cost an arm and a leg but will definitely make it stand out.

Mods so far are;
- Black Excel rims
- Krooz Tune modified suspension with Eibach springs
- Bridgestone M404 tyres
- full DRD exhuast system
- Re-jetted to suit pipe
- Pro Taper Windham bars
- Works Connection anodised egine plugs
- Magura hydraulic clutch setup
- Goodridge braided brake lines
- CRF bachplate
- CRF rad guards
- CRF case saver
- Stealth rear sprocket
- RK Gold chain
- Hammerhead shifter
- Decal Works backgrounds

To say that i am impressed with this bike is a gross undestatement. The bike has been nothing short of brilliant since i purchased it last year, and it goes like a scalded cat! Now ive got the suspension all sorted it really is the perfect trail weapon.

Ouch... carbon fairing kits are two arms, two legs, and some nuts :rofl: Awesome that you've got the kit now tho! Post some pics once you stick them on. I may be less wow'd though as I love carbon accents but full on carbon everywhere is not to my taste. Nice to have a lighter bike though :goodjob: Just my opinion but see what you think cos that's the important part! You may prove me wrong and change my mind :rofl:

Yeah, I think the bike will fit diagonally with the tailgate down but the licence plate being on the tailgate is a problem. The cops may not be your friend. Is it legal to jack something up so that the rear licence plate is visible
when the tailgate is down?
You might have to look at a ramp of some kind to get it up in the ute. If you drop the bike on to the carbon fairings, I'd be expecting about a billion pieces and probably some tears or vomit or something :bawl::spew:

I keep looking at your bike... I want one!!!:bow::bow:

The Vortex ignition is great. Obviously make sure you get it programmed. Costs about $100. Are your bars higher then the tag bars?? I was interested in getting bar risers and/or different bars. Your 450 looks great. Mine looks plain as now as I got aftermarket plastics and put the new ones away. This makes allowance for my average riding..lol. Enjoy your bike.

'01 GSX1300R Hayabusa, opened std mufflers, airbox mods, welded clutch (removes back torque limiter), full re-tune on dyno (175 RWHP, up from 159 std), polished rims. I'd dearly love another but I fear I wouldn't live long.

Better throw up some pictures of my favourite bikes.....

Here is the MFP12. Anyone familiar with Mad Max will understand that reference......its a 2005 Kawasaki ZX12R, with about 165hp at the back wheel. Heaps of mods, Power Commander, 16t front sprocket, timing retard eliminator, full Yoshi exhaust with custom muffler, rearset footpegs......the list is pretty long. Its a great bike, good for about 1'50" at the Creek on standard road tyres and with a fat old b@st@rd on board.....;)

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/Gosling1/MFP12/Bling2.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/Gosling1/MFP12/trackday15Dec1.jpg

This is one of my favourite bikes in the stable - a 1980 Z1000H. It was the worlds first mass-produced fuel-injected motorcycle. I have owned this bike for the majority of its life......don't be fooled by the old-style z900 sidecover badges.....this is actually an EFI 1105cc sleeper.....

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/Gosling1/Black%20Pearl/Blackpearl15.jpg

there are heaps more bikes in the stable (otherwise known as the 4th dimension ;)) I could rattle on all day about them.

Main reason for joining this site is to tyry and get as much info as I can about the LS1 - I have never owned a Holden with an LS1, but will be installing an LS1 into a Series III XJ Jaguar over the next few months.....

Its great to see a car forum that has a motorcycle sub-section !! :goodjob:

I run a small workshop from home that services and tunes old jap bikes - mainly stuff from the late 60's through to 1985. If I can help anyone here with info about these older jap bikes, just sing out...

cheers
Dave

I have three bikes.
This one is a K1 GSXR1000 Streetfighter.
Too many mods to list but my favourite things on this are the superbike spec PFM front brake discs and calipers.
This bike has wheelied to 200kmh (see video) in it's previous guise
YouTube - Rocket does a wheelie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9muX9BHBZno)

This photo taken at the Northam bike show last year, literally straight from the work bench, to the show.

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n249/blowngsxr11/100_0057.jpg

Another one is this 07 Harley Roadking, pretty much stock except the usual air cleaner, exhuast, tune up mods. This is a great bike.
This pic was taken on the road between Collie and Bridgetown on one of my weekend solo runs I like to take every now and then.

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n249/blowngsxr11/alb003.jpg

This one is my Turbo, Intercooled '92 GSXR1216 Streetfighter.
This runs forged WISECO Busa pistons, plus lots of other stuff.
This bike will literally wheelstand in any gear with it's stock wheelbase. I have had this bike picking up the front wheel at 230kph at the Kwinana dragstrip in top cog. A complete animal, the engine is just about to be refitted after a quick strip to check it over and fix some leaky gaskets.
This pic was taken at a photo shoot for Rapid bike magazine a while back.

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n249/blowngsxr11/RHR_18.jpg

None of these bikes look as shiny as these pics anymore.
Especially the green one which has been hammered in all sorts of weather, down the drags, on the backroads, everywhere.

Im running S & S 585 gear drive cams so I could do away with the chain adjuster which can be high maintenance with hot cams (so Im told)
Bike has a very sharp crisp idle - you can tell that the cams are pretty serious from the sharpness of the idle:smilesandbanana::smilesandbanana:

Some very nice bikes posted here....

Sad to say but I am still on my L's so i still ride a 250.. a Kawasaki ZXR250.
Had the bike for 3-4years now and yes i am still on my Ls.
Reason : i was to lazy to go for my Ls back when i was 17 which was really stupid. I got it in August last year and now i am lazy to go for my Ps. My licence expires on the 22nd August... sigh

Too scared to ride it home I see. LOL. Nice bike-better than the 999 in looks-Ducati went a bit left field there.
Regards, Doc

Yeah thanks Doc :). Was hanging to ride it home, but the bike also came with 2 boxes of original parts that I had to get home. If you have a look in the boot you will notice 2 Ducati boxes (it originally housed the 70mm termi system). Nb. When I did get it home and rode it, it scared the shit outa me, lifted in first, second and even third...

Yeah the 749/999 series is a bit like the original Walkinshaw. You either love it or hate it. Everyone has an opinion on both. After having owned both, needless to say I must have a thing for that unique look....

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn63/SHEEKSTA84/03092008101.jpg

Mods so far are;
- Black Excel rims
- Krooz Tune modified suspension with Eibach springs
- Bridgestone M404 tyres
- full DRD exhuast system
- Re-jetted to suit pipe
- Pro Taper Windham bars
- Works Connection anodised egine plugs
- Magura hydraulic clutch setup
- Goodridge braided brake lines
- CRF bachplate
- CRF rad guards
- CRF case saver
- Stealth rear sprocket
- RK Gold chain
- Hammerhead shifter
- Decal Works backgrounds

To say that i am impressed with this bike is a gross undestatement. The bike has been nothing short of brilliant since i purchased it last year, and it goes like a scalded cat! Now ive got the suspension all sorted it really is the perfect trail weapon.

sheeks, thought about getting some team Geico powersports honda graphics, would top of your package very nicely IMO. great looking bike. not interested in selling lol..

Sweet zuzie got sim 06 1000 we don't need road where we a going fun always with respect. mothers can bite real quick if you let them stay safe bud cheers mark.

Not sure whether to get it painted yet but probably will in the future.
cheers.

sounds awesome mate. im tossing up between a wr450f and one of those red things. i had a 05 wr450f, man loved that bike, would go anywhere and never missed a beat. I also had ringmaster graphics on that, they are worth it - high quality and personal touches to boot.
