Where's the skanks? You're obviously a pimp...!
I'd love to have a combination like that in the garage...
The wheels aren't my cup of tea but each to their own I guess
IIV8II Yeah its funny you say that a couple of my mates have been tagging the statey as a Pimp Mobile or Tony Soprano's ride.
Just always liked black n chrome I guess.

...I love it. Me wants one!
Statey was a bargain I was actually looking for a wagon VY VZ for the girlfriend when my mate whos the local Holden Dealer said to me why dont you just buy a Statey. Told me how much he could get me one for under half price of a new one it was too hard to say no. Got 30ks 18 mths old was an ex GM car over in Elizabeth clean as a whistle. Interior has a couple of marks but detailer says he can get them out no probs.

Gees some nice as rides there youve done well love the black and chrome, no wonder you don't specify your location because "some would like to know".
Cheers
Scotty
Yeah I cahanged my location a while ago because i didnt want to cause hassles for my mate the local Holden Dealer. Probably doesnt really make much difference though at the end of the day locals know where I live along with all the coppers :cussing: oh well s#it happens. Glad you like my rides was a bit unsure what other people would think I like em and I spose thats all that should matter. But its always nice to have other people compliment you on your work.
thanks
Jase
You wouldn't buy any chance have a video of the ute using its air bags would you? I love the ute and stato with the wheels (even if some people call them ricer) ..... nice work JHP1
Nah mate dont have any video Im afraid. If your going to the Nats I can show you the ute working will be there might take the statey too dont know yet.
Mate as much as i would love to go to the nats, its a long way from home. I would love to come one year though. I looking foward to all the piccy's from the naths though!

Jase, I cant say i have herd of them. But then again, i might have done and not paid attention. That would be great if you could post a video. I was at PT once and a ute simlair to use in specs called Bliss had air bags and it was unreal to see. He had a set of chrome 20's and the car stood out like dogs balls. It was very nice.
Actualy i found a piccy of it. has 22's now (bit big if you ask me) ..... looked good with 20's though!

Yeah thats the one. She has a monaro on bags with Vx gts rims. I meet her in a nightclub at the goldy last indy. She is a hairdresser.
Those rims are 22's all round with pump front gaurds. I would never get my front gaurds pump to fit rims. Not my cup of tea really.
Cool hook up with her Ute Monaro what a chick. :love2: :lmao:

In other words our dream lady, she wasnt bad on the eye either :yup:
MAAAAN thats the whole package Id be given that number a call quicksmart! :bounce:
Today I just had twin 2.5 cat back fitted by exhaust shop coming out the stock tip. Barely any difference in note sounds a little deeper but no where near loud enough. Any one have any ideas why? Shop said it might be because the two merge just before the tip into 3" pipe and then out the tip. Dont know what to do to improve the note, not happy Jan!
:vpo:
I would be p!ssed to. What brand is the exhuast system jhp?
Its a Redback I think? Like I said though its only cat back. Just expected more of a bark
How many mufflers does it run? might be time for some headers and induction changes aswell. It helps with the exhuast note.

I'll let you know how mine sounds tomorrow Jase but yeah it's not just the cat-back system on mine so it'l be apples and oranges. Mine's in the back seat of the car right now, I'm all toey getting ready for having t on. 2 1/2" all the way through...
Yeah was contemplating headers and OTRCAI will come with mafless in a month or 2 realise this will open her up more as it did on the ute the ute sounds awesome with twin 3s and 1 7/8 extractors all difillippo dont want the statey or expect it to be close to the ute just more than factory. Throttle response has improved marginally so its obviously breathing better but expected more of a note anyone else out there with a catback have this prob?
Mines twin 2.5 from the cats to the tip with two individual centre mufflers and one rear with 2 pipes in and 2 pipes out. Just with so many people saying how great their cat back sounds I was a little disappointed is all no real bark so to speak.

Farrrkkkkkk! the ute looks hot, the stato looks HOTTER! ..not ricey at all, its all in the wheels you could make it look ricey by selecting crappy plastic looking chrome wheels, but very very tastefully done pimp master!. I like both rides. Where is this grey strip you speak of?
Thanks mate in the pics the grey strip has already been painted it seems all the statos have a grey strip along the bottom of both bumpers and the entire side skirt. Glad you like the ute the stateys a little more sedate didnt want it too low or too loud still a good cruiser. :diddy:

Now I know the grey strip you speak of, in the first pic the front lower bumper strip is grey I see what you mean, for a Statey they could of colour-coded the whole thing, how bloody lucky is your missus. Want a 31 yr old son?!?! do I get a pimped Caprice?? :D
Yeah Shanghai thats what I reckon but you know what women are like  always wanting more. I reckon we could work something out always wanted a son.
Hey Satanfist did you get your exhaust sorted wondering how it ebded up sounding?
Satansfist
24-04-2006, 12:23 PM
G'day Jase, yeas mate, did get it sorted. Had trouble with the left hand bank O2 sensor (the clowns that fitted the system twisted the wires out of their seats) spoke to Brad (vyssls1) and he sorted me. Also just had 3.9 diff gears an OTRCAI and MAFless tune fitted on the weekend. Man it's like a new car! The exhaust is "bedding in" I guess, the sound is subtle but menacing and really sounds great when I boot it, which it seems is all the time now! I went from 192rwkw to 231.7rwkw on the weekend and driving home after picking it up I smoked it away from my cousin's place and had two drag races from the lights with cars I'm sure were revving their engines and looking at me provocatively!:burnout:
Umm...so yeah exhaust has turned out good.

oh my god both cars are awesome... personally i like the ute more
Thanks mate. satanfist exhaust sounds like it turned out well I think I'll have to get extractors etc done give it a better note.
Hey SATANFIST checked tyres 225 on front ad 245 on rear. Its tight the suspension has settled a little since the pics the only slight rub is in nreverse at full lock and moving it just rubs the plastic inner guard. Hope this helps :woohoo:

Cheers mate, I'm waiting for some 20's to arrive and I'm hoping I get the same tyre setup you have, I don't really like the idea of the 225's but if it fits and keeps the modifications down then that's cool.
:lol:Call me Pete by the way...
No worries. Pete it is then, when I stood my 225s against the 235s on the ute there was no diff in contact patch. Ive had several different brands on the ute and it seems different brands have different widths in tread even though they are meant to be the same width and profile. Hope it all works out well the photo chop pics looked good with the beemer wheels :bravo:

Awsome looking stato, the rims and all black really go well together. Mind you i fell in love with the ute first time i saw it too. Sounds awsome when u get into it. Great et you pulled over the 1/4 as well. Congrats on the new stato looks great. Ill have to hit you up for a ride in the ute one day seeming i drool on it everytime i see it :)
Thanks MCDEATH where abouts in Bendigo are you? What do you drive? Stop in i'll takr you for a run some time utes a bit more fun though 300kws at the treads versus a barge with 235 at the fly!

Whooooo that has gotta be the best looking late mod statesy i've seen! personally not a fan of chrome but geeze, they look awesome. Be fun keeping it clean, gotta love black AND chrome.. congrats though
Yeah it came up all right would still love to fit a grange kit though Blacks not too bad on the statey utes a pain at job sites and dirt roads etc always filthy.
Thanks for the words
Cheers Jase

D'OH! I backed into a Corolla about a month ago but thank god for the towbar, not a scratch on me but a nastily torn up bumper for the Corolla...too bad mate, hope there's not too much damage...
Nah just the rear bumper get a new one from NVU get it sprayed up thankfully it doesnt seem to have marked anything else when its popped forward. Im thinking I might go for a caprice bar is there much difference.

JHP and Satanfist - FYI i had the same problem with different brands of tyres and scrubbing. I have a VU that has been dumped and with the bridgestones i had no troubles at all. Switch to Dunlop rubber of the same size and the tread pattern/sidewall shape are completely different. The dunlops scrub on the smallest of bumps and after switching back to bridgestone - no problemo!!
And BTW - They are two awesome rides mate!! Bags, Black and Chrome - classic cant go wrong combination!!
Thanks mate for the compliments yeah I found the different brands can be totally different widths and profiles even though they are the same size ie 235/35/19 weird huh

Hey Pete check the load rating on the 225's before you buy if not for the law reasons for the safety reasons. I have 245's all round but have coilovers on the front to allow em . GV1's n dropped to the boards:bravo: LUCK ta ya!
