Hi Guys, I looked at where to post this, but somebody closed the thread that mentioned there were new photos of a red VE caught out. The other thread with camera photos has the blue ones in full chequer.

So:

http://www2.filehost.to/files/2006-04-09_02/081318_p4070008sm3qg.jpg

The photo is copied from another forum and there was another photo, but its from further away and not as good.

Things to note:
The colour (it does look like the red from the Calais from another thread).
The flares in full side on.

More things to note:

The arial is roof mounted.
The high stop light has moved from the rear spoiler to the back window.
The front guard vent has the indicator in it.

no too keen on the antenna and the roofline/pillars/side mirrors don't look like they've changed much. Like the exhaust outlets but what is that light down near the drivers side exhaust tip?

Get used to VE sightings. Holden is instructing their engineers to drive the prototypes on the public roads with increasing frequency over the coming months. This is the new marketing ploy for the public to see the new car prior to the official release.

Interesting the duel exhaust is on the right hand side.

Commodore always had them on the left. I wonder if this means they will fit duels on each side. (Quads) Cannot quite make it out in the photos though.

Will be interesting to see the finished product and the HSV range.

There are actually dual pipes on BOTH sides :)

I wonder if the aerial is retained on the roof or if it gets integrated into the rear (or is it front?) window ala BA.

I'm loving those mags - I hope they're retained for the SS - and they do indeed look like 19's.

Bring it on :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

They are definitely quads, you can see them in the pic if you boost the brightness.

anything would be better than the cruddy retractable one thats on offer now...save having to replace them regularly

Looks a bit VY -ish at the rear still....not that its a bad thing.....

it has been stated that for the last of a platform, Holden gives strong styling clues to the next platform (i.e. VS to VT and now VZ to VE [if that's what the model code will finally be])

Reminds me of an RX8. The guards and lines through the side of the car in particular.

Looks good!

If it is a fog light it could be there to allow for export to the UK.

Is there also a stop light just above the exhaust or is that just a reflector of sorts?

EDIT: Didn't realise there were 2 more pages to this thread. Ignore this post. Look, an elephant.

So they have done away with the c pillar moulding/crease, but still have a roof line on either side. Very black strip, and as per VT.

I thought they would have had a nice one piece look joined, under the door frames or something.

VZ with added mazda. Rear visibility will be shocking without a camera or aid for the littlies. This was reported about yonks ago come VY, yet car makers are still all euro fetching for an image over practicality. Blame the jelly mould mould modeling on high bum lines, and pull out door handles. Short fronts, and high bonnets for pedestrian protection. High sides.... Still Our Aussie compromise. VE.

In red... wow. Make mine AWD. (oops they can't afford it).. Oh well, 6L DOD, 6Sp Manual, and don't spare the fruit.. might need to wait for series 2 for the fully contented car they want to sell. Ala Spare tyre even?

dunno - looks a bit like the wings on some of the performance F**cons

could also be the black material which spoils the lines, and the light in the pic is not all the best

:woohoo:

Sounds the goods, well hopefully too!!

Wonder how the petrol tank is situated in the VE and if this tank can be fitted to older models.

Gives me a few little ideas for a new exhaust system if the VE has pipes true down each side.

Guess we are going to find out when its released.

Great work mate, this has made my day.
This is going to be one good looking road car, I love the radio aerial now on the rear of the roof like the Astra's and Vectra's and the high mount rear stop light.
Can't wait to have a new toy to play with, August can't come quick enough. :)

Great spotting rs2000.

I'd say these guys were on their way to chapel to be a part of the chap laps brigade.
