Hey guys,

We finally nailed together the Vortech equipped cast iron 408 cubic inch engine for Craig’s race car last week.

The current specifications are as follows;

Engine Capacity : 408 CI
Bore Size : 4.030”
Stroke : 4.000”

Static Compression Ratio : 10.5:1

Cylinder Heads : LS1 (Higgins)

Cam : 258/262 @.050” 107.5 LSA

Exhaust System : Custom (Liverpool Exhaust)

Total Ignition Timing : 18deg BTDC

Boost Pressure : MAX 12 psi

Engine Output : 1,038 HP----774KW Currently with a soft tune.


This engine is not a world beater by any standards but it certainly has the capacity to turn up the program.

Nothing wrong with a Vortech V7Ysi.....first FI LS1 to go 1000rwhp in Aus had one. Great piece of gear for the very serious, and very brave :burnout:
