Hey all,

Just noticed that my fog lights wont turn on checked all the fuses and they are all fine.

Any body got any idea what the problem could be.

The parkers, low and high beam all work fine just not fog lights.

Cheers

I did think of that but what are the chances of both of them going at the exact same time???

swap the aircon relay with the fog lamps relay under the bonnet, and see what you have then,,
btw the truckies will be happy until you get them working, lol
they are an unhappy bunch those Truckers when you leave the fog lamps on I reckon the VZ SS lights are the worst offenders.
no adjustment on them so I packed them down with a washer.

Truck light are normally the worst I reckon.. I guess cos there up a fair bit higher.

I had tried swapping the AC realay with teh fog lights relay and still not good.

I had the front bar resprayed about 4 weeks ago, I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it, they were working after I got it back but I'm think that may have something to do with it.

Anybody happen to know how they are wired up?

I think I'll have to get under there to night and have a look.

Is it foggy?

Remember it is illegal to use when not foggy anyway, on top of it being annoying depending on model of car as too its severity.

Just pull out the globes and check would be my suggestion.

This happened to someone I know.;)

Slight nudge against a kerb and it cut the two wires straight off the back.

Sounds dumb, but it's worth a look.

Hey Im on the fence on this one, are you sure its Illegal in qld, (yet) to have the foggies burning??

Without changing direction of this thread, the National Standards do dictate a maximum other white light eminating from the front of the car other than headlights and its use.

I have been thru the national standards and also the road rules on this one. We had this issue back early in the piece in WA with the WRX club and also the HSV Club and HSV with their marketing.

PM if you want other info.

My point was to be wary using them anyway.

The painters might not have secured the plugs properly also.

My motto is no fog no use
If there is fog then use away.

Its a bit like using the hair dryer on your head when your hair is dry.

1) check the things are still plugged in

2) check the relay is actually getting power - if not investigate fuses etc

3) check the relay is getting the switching current - if not check your switch in the cabin

If you dont have a multimeter buy a $30 dick smith or jaycar one - most valuable tool you will ever have in tracking down shit like this

:) I cant agree completely
As I said earlier Im on the fence on this subject , but I do know I prefer to have them on in the Tonner on long trips as they light the sides of the road nicely and directly in front so I actually get to see what it is Im about to run over, as the high beam tends to light up further out (with the Vz ss headlights)

BUT,, I do respectfully extinguish them for oncoming Traffic

Btw I dont think we should be worried about getting off topic as the original question has been adressed imo.

Illegal or not when I am out on the highway I have mine blazing.

When you come up on traffic and you are travelling 100km/hr or faster than the car in front, you want them to be able to see you coming.

Each to their own but I usually never used my foggies unless the conditions are bad so I have to use them.

But for normal days nup never need em its just wearing out the globes really. :)

It was the globes both went at the exact same time. Weird!

I have never found them to be annoying on other oncoming cars.
Some of the aftermarket ones are slightly if they are mounted up to high, though but it’s never really worried me.

I guess within reason I would prefer people to have good lights so they are able to see where there driving. (As long as there not stupidly bright)

If I see anyone coming at me with poorly adjusted fog lamps blaring,
be it night or day, I kindly put my lights on high beam and leave
them that way until they are past. Fog lights in good weather are
for look at me people only, use your low beam headlights if you
want to be seen :teach:

Tell this to the driver of every 2nd car on the road these days.

Car manufacturers 2 sure fire rules of how to sell cars...

Make em standard with fog/driving lights, then show every owner how to turn em on and leave em on.

Oh... and the other rule... whack in a turbo !!!

Doh- didnt read solution found above! Was going to offer you mine, im yet to use them- I cant find any fog............one day........... Legal or not they still are 'glarey' at night, im not a fan of seeing them on, in non fog conditions.
