Which bottled water is better, Cool Ridge or Mt Franklin?

Both G&D and HPF are well regarded and both have achieved excellent results. You will have different people both say that each company is the best.
Your best bet is to contact each company, have a look at some of the vehicles they have done and maybe get them to take you for a run in one, then make the decision for yourself.

Dont forget GM Motorsport another forum sponsor, they have proven cam only packages to suit what ever you require.

Hi

I strongly recommend you visit both HPF and G&D Performance. Either choice will give very good results! I had a cam only car from G&D Performance and absolutely loved the power it had.

Richard

going back a few months there was plenty of keyboard dribble about one or both being dodgy.. blah blah blah..

But after seeing cars from both stables @ teh nats.. there is clearly no doubt they are very very fine workshops.. with many happy customers.. you will no doubt be happy with either.

But hey.. thery are competitors.. so shop them against each other..

Damn clever those Coke blokes. Silly me just thought they bottled the stuff. How long have Coke been stuffing those H2's into those O's?

The biggest question is which cam, not who to fit it.

You'd not tell the difference 4 the same cam fitted by hpf or G&D (or GM Motorsport or Chev's Performance or APS Service Ctr 4 that matter). You need to talk to these guys to determine which cam is right 4 you.

G & D did the cam job on my Monaro.
Perfectly happy with the result.

Ive had work done for me by both stables.HPF did work on my previous ride and my current ride is in the G&D stable.
Both are highly experienced and professional work shops.
Have a chat with both and then make your mind up.Remember apart from the money side after sales support is also very important.

Same with myself HPF did the work on my ute & G&D did the work on my SV8. Both places are great to deal with & have results to back them up! :deal:

Speak to Rob at HPF & also Matt at G&D - Im sure they will spend time with you & help you out.

Okay well what can i say..... not much at this point in time, i had my car worked on by hpf nearly going on 12 months ago... power levels were impressive for what was done but the tune needed serious work.... wouldnt idle on cold startups and high idle aswell, took it back a few times with the same outcome and different excuses.. couldnt figure out why they couldnt fix my mild setup ls1 but they could tune 1000+ hp cars.. kinda of pissed me off being 500km away and having to take it back for the third time..... im not trying to turn anybody off hpf but im just telling a story with no happy ending.

How long was the car left there for the initial tune ? Cold starts sometimes need the car left there for a few days to do it properly so they can try it each morning as you only get one shot at it then it has to be left to cool down properly. Especially when you have added a new cam etc.

MonaroCV8R: Those issues sound bad =( i hope they get sorted soon. Hopefully you will come across someone who has experience in the problems you have encountered, and will have the knowledge to fix the problem - because it sounds like one of those major problems, that have a simple solution =\

I have been to many, MANY workshops in Melbourne, and been fscked over by the majority of them, who promise too much and assure you it will be ready by the end of the day.

I have been going to HPF for about 2 years now, and taken 3 different cars to them and quite satisfied with their work. There has been the occassional problem, but these will happen anywhere, and Ian is to the point and is focused on customer satisfaction, and when i have not been happy with something, even though he didnt agree with me, he fixed the problem free of charge.

Anyway, i hope you update us on your car when its fixed !

yeah i cant wait, if i could show you footage threw a video camera i would but i dont know how to set it all up, there might have been a glitch in there tuning software because as soon as i picked my car up my sisters vt ss was dropped off for LS1 edit for the very next day and it has an issue aswell, on cold startups the engine fires up then stalls straight away... then when you start it back up it starts and doesnt play up but it doesnt happen everytime.. only happens maybe 1 out of 3 startups.. ill inform yous on this thread in a couple of weeks when its done, cheers.

I've had a couple of cars tuned at HPF and could not fault the workmanship or quality of tune.
My VY R8 has a Higgins built NA 408 with a big nasty cam which is well into the 270's on a 108 lsa. When built we thought we may have to go for an after market ECU but HPF managed to tune it with the standard ECU and it runs perfectly and makes 430 rwkw all day everyday.
Nathan fitted a smallish cam into my Coupe 4 with strict instructions that it remain pleasant to drive and mild mannered. The results after a tune by HPF saw an increase from 160kw @ all 4 wheels to 235kw @ all 4 while retaining all of its manners.
In addition to the tuning HPF/Amberlys also take care of the day to day servicing of our 12 company cars and a lot of dealerships could certainly learn a lot from these guys and the level of customer service provided.

Just my 2 cents worth anyway

they must hate me then :p oh well, no harm in trying another tuner is there...

clutch probs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey pete
the clutch doesnt want me to change gear at slow speeds anymore, 1st to 4th up and down gears and the clutch oil is starting to turn black which might be normal but i dont know but it has gotten really bad in the last couple of weeks from driving in the city, what do you think the problem is?

I've pasted your PM out here because I'd rather leave this out in the open if that's ok with you?

It sounds like a hydraulic issue. Give me a bell on 0414 606 966 and I'll help you get it sorted.

Cheers

My personal experience with HP-F in the past few days has been nothing short of fantastic.

See this thread:- http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=55765

And previous dealings with G & D have also been very, very good.

No matter who you choose, you will receive great advice and service from people who are enthusiastic and helpful.
