Couple of MADWGN acceleration videos, quicktime files 2-3mb each.
The vids doen't really do it justice, it feels so damn quick in the car. However if you watch the speedo, you can see it's picking up speed fast. You can hear the speed alert go off at 120 kph. Sorry for the shaky vids, missus had trouble keeping it steady with the gear changes and :burnout:
This is an M6 so no stallied auto here to bring the revs up. Not bad for a 1900kg+ (as videod) wagon. All done on a private road.

movie3 (http://www.gimmecarparts.com.au/images/wagon/incar_3.mov)
movie4 (http://www.gimmecarparts.com.au/images/wagon/incar_4.mov) part throttle 40%, 2nd-5th changing at 3500rpm

No dumping the clutch or anything, just driving along and then flooring it. There was plenty of wheelspin, gotta make sure I'm pointing in a straight line when I put the foot down! I think the extra weight of the wagon over the rear helps.

Thanks Nick, looking forward to your results too :) I haven't driven the car for a few weeks due to a broken hand so it feels real quick, and it's loving the cooler weather. I've started asking myself do I really need anymore? Of course the answer is yes
Blue-SS inspired me to take some vids. However he won't get to see them as he's been banned for good

Thats an awesome ride mate, who ever buys that engine will be in for some fun times. When I read the build cost for the engine I almost fainted, thats almost more than my loan on my car :headbang:
If you ever have some spare time please post up some more vids. I for one can garantee I will download them ALL!!

Worked out some approx acceleration figures from the videos:
50 - 160 kph = 7.7 sec
30 - 140 kph = 8.5 sec
80 - 140 kph = 4.5 sec (3rd gear)
80 - 120 kph = 3.0 sec (3rd gear)
Yes, there are others going faster, but a few things to consider: it's an M6, heavy wagon 2 up, normal crappy street tyres, and the times are starting at the speed indicated - not accelerating through.

Which must be why Drew's new project is a turbo

I've just got crappy tyres that came with the wheels when I bought them.
I am very careful to not put the boot in unless I am pointing in a straight line!

Yes, in the movie cruising thorugh the gears you can hear my son in the back seat.

Cruising through the gears you say? Ah it's all good, my kids just love it when I give the car a burst. Even when sideways all I hear from the back seat is "do it again". I swear, being a hoon is in the blood. I am a third generation car lover and am raising the forth!
Cheers,
Tim.
