For my first year (being under 25) I had to insure with Just Cars and that cost me $1300 for full comprehensive rating 1. The second year was with AAMI and only cost me $570. Huge difference being 1 year older made :P

i pay $1050 per year with just car. vy ss only has suspension mods at the moment. am turning 27 this may so might go down a touch. am also installing twin turbos in next couple of months and haven't even enquired as to what that will cost or if just car will even allow it. but hey, we can't let small formalities get in the way of the prime objective!

and yes, n.s.w. does sound far more expensive in general.

good luck with it all!!!

somtimes i think insurance companys just pull a figure out of a hat and be done with it. how can there be so many different prices around the same age and vehicle?

Drewie
30-04-2006, 08:08 PM
Depends on your postcode and whether you go for Agreed Value or Market Value, Agreed can be up to $100 dearer than Market Value, I have just re-insured my VX SS with RACV cost me $702 but for an agreed value of $27740.
It has only done 42000km that is why they agreed to the high insured value.
Makes you think though when you would probably only get maybe $15k or so trade-in on it. But if it is written off I sure would prefer the $27740 than market value what ever that may be.

Im 20 and with a VY SS UTE SII with mods such as :
Lowered
CAI
Zorst + Headers
Tune

"Just car" insured me for full comp for $1298 per year.
Only disadvantage is you have to pay full amount front up.

Insurance prices really vary depending on what postcode your car resides at and where the vehicle is parked such as: On the road, garage, carport, driveway etc....
And also driving history.
I think thats why mine is cheap for my age cos i live in a yuppy area and the car is garaged at night.

Hey, HSVFREAK, do Just Cars, I think that is who you are with have a fully disclosed on all of the mods? EG Twin Blowers etc?
At 23, if they do, that is a fantastic price.
If they do not, don't hit anything.

I pay around $500 full comp for my VX11 Wagon edited etc, fully disclosed.

Yeah mate, i had to have one of their people inspect the car and i had provide them with an engineers certificate due to the extent of the mods.

I was wrapped with the quote they gave me almost seemed too good to be true as no other insurance company wanted to insure the car, or if they did the premium was through the roof.

VX SS stock, 27 years old, rating 1 (Premier one) RACV, low risk area, garaged, market value, $1160 !!

Car under finance which probably makes a difference, but think I might do some shopping around!!

Think you'll find that a lot of insurers are prepared to match or better competitors offers, so worth shopping around.

With all the differing prices in premiums stated on here you really need to know who has agreed value and who has market value as it would make a difference to premiums. Some of the lower prices being quoted may be for market value.
