Had a nice middle-age lady open her door full force into the side of the ute in a carpark a couple of weeks ago.
Luckily I saw her do it and got it fixed through my insurance. (Hopefully the $500+ dollars that comes out of her pocket may make her more careful when she parks next to one of your cars :) )

The bloke that fixed it did a fantastic job only took 2 hours and I cannot tell where the damage was, and we are talking a BIG ding here about 5 inches long!
What I wanted to know was can I name the company here and give him a rap or does that break some obscure rule or upset a sponsor or something? ;)

Oh and before someone tells me I should not have been mean enough to hit the nice lady up for the damage, her comment to me when I fronted her was
" people ding my car all the time and walk away". WTF!!

BTW for those who are insured with NRMA damage to your car must be more than your excess before they will chase the other party. ( I didn't know this).

Excess is a bloody nasty word when you talk insurance. Good to see you actually caught the person who dented your car.

" people ding my car all the time and walk away". we had this with the SV6.

Nice and shiny and new, old bloke in a belted up VH just swings his door open and into it. Nice scratch. We get out of the car and chase the old pr!ck up the car park. his response "well its only a car you shouldnt be so attached, I couldnt care less if you hit my car" (umm wonder why). We told him its a brand new fkn car and that a "sorry" would have done because accidents do happen, especially in carparks, and we do understand that, his response was "good next time I park next to it I'll hit it harder and say sorry".

Tell ya what I was so tempted to go into the shops, buy a bat, and start belting his car to the death, or at least smash the windows and slash the tyres see how he liked it after such a smart a$$ comment but I didnt.:cussing:

BTW for those who are insured with NRMA damage to your car must be more than your excess before they will chase the other party. ( I didn't know this). oh yeah! I dunno about Holden and other premium brands, but I know prestige mirror assemblies start from around the $800. Partially because of the brand and the fact their prestige cars so you pay more, but that price also seems to trigger off the excess point for insurance which means insurance will cover it and go the other person!!!!!!!

Not quite sure how it works if you dont know who the other person is, I dont deal with that side of it, I only quote the price and order the bits in but that was one thing I learnt

Not quite sure how it works if you dont know who the other person is,

If you can't identify the other person you are up the creek and have to pay the excess yourself.
Thats why I was happy that if it had to happen, at least I saw it.
Normally you just return to a ding or find them when you are washing the car.
