A big thanks to Nathan for being patient over the last few months. This all started off with Nathan bringing us a VS ute which we stroked to 383. The VS eventually became too aggressive for an everyday driver so Nathan bought himself a VY SS ute as a tow car, which I convinced him to let us maffless tune it. He then borrowed some ET radials which gave him the bug to drag this car. After many trips to Heathcote and Calder, he has himself a record acheivement. We still want to go further with his car by trying to pull out more weight where we can and also up his rwkw's using race fuel, as we are still using pump fuel. It would be a great day if we could push Nathan into the 10 sec bracket. We may even put Nathan on a diet......

APS custom maffless tune
94mm throttle body
OTRCAI
LS2 manifold and fuel rail
Underdrive pulley
Aluminium flywheel
Valve springs
95/5's fully adjustable coil overs (front)
Adjustable rear suspension (koni)
4.11 mini spool
Di Filippo 4 into 1 extractors 1 7/8
APS custom race pipe
Dry ice box
Pump fuel with octane booster (BP Ultimate)
Parts Removed-These are the parts removed when we were running 11.7's

Lightened bonnet
Passenger seat out
Spare tyre out
Hard lid off
Tailgate off
Fuel tank cover
Side panels in tub area
Exhaust system

After seeing how stripped some of the BOSS cars are we then removed the following items

Tailgate hinges
Bumper bar support bracket
A/C Condenser
A/C Compressor
Door seals
Door trims
Side mirrors
Wiper motor etc
Radio
Centre console
Lightened fuel tank
Removed steel wheels and replaced with lightened alloy wheels
We even removed the glovebox

We are going to add some weight to bring it car to the minimum weight of 1400kg, car only, and see what it runs.

this has caused the guys to think hard now
i remember when a guy called Ron Harrop ran 11.8
in his straight 6 FJ holden [Harrops Howler] and didnt the feathers fly then
he probably still has the C/MP record
BTW...that was in 1975 or there abouts

point is that when the educated magic happens
there will always be questions

bring on the 10's

and it is a well set out post

Well done guys! Nath certainly know's how to peddle that M6. Did you have to make the fuel tank a little bigger to accomodate for his burnouts

Puts my ute to shame

Here is the data for Avalon for that night.

11.8 C
87%
wind from the west 19kph
pressure
1028.3 Mb

Thats a Density Altitude of -718 feet

Good weather for a record ! We want this at WSID in some meets soon.

Gained the car from a sea level DA of 11.294/120.33mph
at a common DA of 400 feet its 11.342/119.99

It makes us wait with enthusiasm for similar weather at WSID over the coming weeks.

I doubt we ever get the chance to race at WSID that late.

We experienced our first Ford Forums event which was great but not as busy as the LS1 day which gave us a lot of oppurtunity to try different things on Nathans car. He has impoved his personal best to an 11.19. Nathans enthusiasm is overwhelming, he is pushing us to see if we can achieve the first 10 second unopened which is a lot harder then we anticipated, but still achievable.

Hey everyone, the boys and I had an enjoyable day up at Heathcote this weekend. Nathan improved his time further by running an 11.07, testing out a new manifold set up. It looks friggin ugly. Nathan should contact Krispy Kremes for sponsorship cos it looks like a bloody doughnut, but at least it seems to be working. I'll post up pics as soon as I can.
