Just wondering if K&N oil will be alright on a uni filter?
Only because I have a spray on oil can (K&N) and this just seems easier then bathing it in the uni filter treatment oil.
Also, My uni filter is soaked in oil to the point where it drips out if held upright. Surely this isn't normal.

there should only be enough oil on a uni filter to just be sticky
if you have oil running around the place it is definitely to much - if left this way you will most likely damage sensors
pull it out wash it and then re oil with only a very small amount
otherwise get a cotton filter then use the spray oils which are easier to control the amount applied

Had a look on the Uniflow website and it says that you should oil the filter, then wring out as much oil as you can. They reckon when you ring out as much as you can, the filter is oiled correctly.
This is the only filter that fits my intake.

Do you have the unifilter sealed pod Lewis? I had that one on
my car for about 8 months.

To answer my own question
WARNING: UniFilter strongly advises against using filter oil designed for cotton gauze filters. This filter oil may seem similar but it is far from it. If you use this type of oil you may run the risk of severely damaging your engine.

To answer my own question
The unifilter oil is a lot heavier than the K&N stuff. It is also quite "sticky".
If you use the Unifilter oil on a cotton gauze filter it will probably affect the overall breathing ability of the filter.

the first time i cleaned my otrcai from Sonny i just tried to use the K&N oil thinking it was all the same, what ended up happening was all the oil started leaking out of the filter and going everywhere. After that i changed to the unifilter oil and i can tell you they are too totally different products. as already stated the unifilter oil is much thicker and a totally different texture to the K&N stuff
go to any dirt bike shop and get a can of air filter oil. foam filters use a much tackier oil than kns. ive found motul the easiest to use. its water thin as you apply it, then the solvents evaporate leaving the oil on the filter.

There is some kind of dragonfly epidemic up here so filters need cleaning a lot.
