2 hole mod???

Hi,

I had my airbox changed over at sams performance whilst getting a mafless tune. They put the monaro cai and bottom part of the airbox as well as the gts mafpipe. The bottom part of the airbox has a massive hole in it, much bigger than the two holes in my stnadard airbox. Should I put an extra hole in it or is this hole big enough. Theres not that much room for another hole.

What will the difference be to the kw anyway if i did make another hole. 0.000001kw? or is it something substantial??

G'day there mate, without seeing what it looks like, I dunno. Does it have the one large, around 90mm hole, then another blanked off hole next to it, or no second hole at all.

If yours has just the one hole, then this will provide a benefit to you, coupled with the monaro cai.

But the whole is really big, no way you will get another 90mm hole in there. The one whole looks more than 90mm. It was from sams performance.

If it is bigger than 90mm, then no doubt it will be a Sam's modified airbox and will do the job quite nicely, so it may be best left alone then.

Can you post a pic so we know what you are talking about?

I doubt the trouble of adding an extra hole will make an iota's difference. I'd Leave it as Sam did it.

To be honest I have not had the airbox out since Sam did it. As far as I can remember he basically adds 1 large hole in the bottom of the airbox approx 90 mm, and then adds the GTS MAF pipe. And as far as I'm aware that is the only mods he did. (Apart from the Edit of Course) I figured that he had done enough to know what he was doing. Mine made 245rwkw so I was happy.

I did the 2 hole mod myself, there was just a noticable difference in how smooth it accelerated, not so much a power increase.

For the results that you will get, I would be leaving it as Sam left it.

Why not just save you $$ and get an OTR job like we have.

I removed the ss inductions cai and sam put in the mcai and made 2hp.I dont think the extra hole will make any difference.
