Now that's a tight engine bay! If that LS1 is beefed up how we beef them up over here, I feel sorry for that chasis.

Thats some crazy stuff right there, looks great m8. Be funny if you get pulled over (hopefully not) and the cop says pop the hood, I think "What the F...!!!" may be heard.

I think that was one bloody nice looking astra BEFORE you started chopping into it :p
Are you goin to put the same kit/wheels on it once it's done?
Should be an absolute weapon!

Yes mate, the exterior wont alter, apart from the negative camber on the rear wheels :)

Great (and rewarding) effort -- well done!
May I ask?
Are you considering a "header/catch tank" for the coolant as the radiator appears to be lower than the highest point of the engine.

Yes Mike, the rad was lower in standard form, so using the standard header tank.

Awesome piece of work Pete, street machining is a dying hobby with all the regulation these days.
I would have thought since the engine was out, you would have cracked it open and done some work with cam, heads or bottom end. In an Astra, dare I say a 9 - 10 sec street car?
6 speed, light weight, good fuel economy and tyre shredding power being the most obvious benefits.

Engine work and possibly supercharger, over next winter. Just want to get it finished for the end of february, sort out any problems, and show it from end of april.
