Ryan Briscoe raced at Watkins Glen over the weekend, and finished an excellent 3rd. Scott Dixon won the race.

I was watching it on ESPN, and dind't know what was going on seeing Briscoe's name there. Great effort, glad to see him do well. He also raced in the Grand Am race on Saturday and got 3rd in that as well.

For Ryans sake im glad he managed to put on a good show. No offense to the V8's, but he deserves a better future than that, so im personally hoping he can still break into CCWS. F1 has probably long sailed, even Sebastian Bourdais cant get a break into there, but hes hoping to go straight from top level seat to top level seat (i.e. Renault race drive).
I think hes still a Toyota contracted driver though...
NO offence to the v8 guys. but would going from an Indy Car / F1 Car down to a V8 Supercar kind of put you out of ballance so to speak.
Like your used to driving a car thats like its on rails but then going to full blown heavy v8 sedan.

yeah hes part of a toyota young driver development program or something....
he could have continued testing for them but thought an oppurtunity to race was to hard to pass up...
who knows, with all the expected changes in the f1 paddock next year, if ryan keeps it up he may be back in the fold, one way or another.
good on him for taking that 3rd
if ide can get an f1 drive.....who cant ?

Alot of people thought Toyota couldve wrangled him into a Midland F1 drive when they went for the Toyota engine deal in 05, when they were still known as Jordan. Unfortunately though i think it wasnt going to happen without Ryan bringing in some sponsorship, which he couldnt do so Jordan went for the Tata backed Narain Karthikeyan, and the always mediocre Tiago Monteiro

Toyota might use him in NASCAR when they step up to the big league next year.
