Just thought i'd post up a couple of pics of my VU SS.

Had a set of 20x8.5" XHP Spines on it a couple of weeks ago from my work for the Hobart motorshow, also just put in SSSL King springs in the rear and got some new plates too.

A mate has the same coloured ute, nearly the same rims, until I saw your lacation I thought it was his ute lol.
Very nicely done,I dont mind the ride with 20's,just the price of rubber kills it!

hey mate ute looks tuff i like it , how does the car feel to you with the 20"s did it feel alot slower or it wasnt that bad.

It felt around the same, couldnt accel without wheelspining hard, mainly cause they were only shit tyres on at the time in 225/35R20 and i had to get the wheelaligner to wind on 3'25" of negative camber on the back so i could tuck the rims under guards so they wouldn't scrape (guards not lipped).

Price isnt much of an issue for me, (Work @ Bob jane), i'd run 20's if one of the good tyre companys eg: Yokahama, Michelin, B/stone or Pirelli, would make a 225/35R20 instead of some of the shit that comes out. You can squeeze a 245/35 on the front but i'd prefer 225's front and 245's rear in 20". 245's on the front rub on the inside front guard and look a little chunky on the front.

By the way, thanks for the kind comments guys, hopefully in the near future it will be gracing this site with a Harrop intercooled stealth S/C.

Hey there,

I have just bought a new 6 litre thunder ute, i am going to put an ss inductions cold air induction kit on it, but they do not have a smooth intake pipe like the HSV one on your car, just one question - How did you fit the 4" intake pipe on the original throttle body? as i want to put one on my 6 litre and i know the throttle body is larger than all of the 5.7 litre engines.

Thanks for your help

The throttle body on dads coupe is the same outside diameter as mine so i just slid it on.

If i were you I'd put an K&N air charger kit on, thats what we put on the coupe4 and it made a heap of difference. I think they do them for the LS2 as well as LS1.

Cheers.

So have you changed the throttle body or is it the standard one?

I have looked at a k & n filter, i'm just not sure which one to go with. Although i like the "almost" standard look of the ss inductions growler kit - it will fool these 4 cylinder kids into thinking its only stock until.........

Save yourself some time and search these forums on SS inductions and K&N kits to make an informed decision.
Have fun!

The throttle body on my ute is factory.

I've heard the same.

I can vouch for the K&N air charger, that it did make a good gain on the coupe4.

Cheers
