RE: VY SS. I currently have ss induction cold air intake, bigger throttle body, maff sensor, maff pipe, air filter and computer tune. Would it be worth changing this system for the OTR cold air intake and maffless tune???

YES - the sooner you rid yourself of the SS ind intake the better.

A proper OTR and a mafless tune would be the way to go.

imo definately do it. have done this myself on two cars and made a huge difference, especially over a standard maf setup. throttle seemed to be a lot more responsive, gained a nice bit of induction noise, car seemed to pull a lot more at lower revs and exhaust note seemed to get a bit deeper.
hope this helps
Cheers

Mate get rid of the ur SS induction kit and buy an OTR even if you don't get a tune get an OTR which allows you to keep the maf ;) Sell it on ebay....

an SS "reductions" kit is shite.

Give it to your local homeless community, and get yourself an OTRCAI and mafless edit PRONTO!

thanks guys. well it seams like my mind is made up, i didn't know ss induction is so bad...good thing i didn't pay for it and it came with the car. I was thinking a Power Torque Engine's OTR and mafless tune, what do you think? is that the way to go? :D

Many blokes on this forum swear by that exact set-up.

Good luck with it,

Macca

I dont doubt the value of the OTRCAI but the cost is ridiculous. A bit of plastic for $500. pfff.

SS Induction CAI intake top section feeding into an HSV VT-VX CAI with an appropriate hole cut in the top also works well.

With this set up you still have the HSV CAI which is shielded from engine bay and the SS Induction unit picking up air from in front of radiator.

ps. SS Induction unit is a good design in theory, just in practice it is too small in cross sectional area to flow enough air

Dunno about that, 400 odd bucks for something you have to modify to make it work....imo that makes it very poorly designed & overpriced.

Kng55, great question.
I am looking to go with a mod on my vy2ss. I have a D&T exhaust and headers (twin 2.5in stainless system etc) and am trying to workout which way to go myself. Anyone from Adelaide had the otrcai mod done and where?
My problem is that I am arguing with holden now about a noisy diff and dont want to further risk voiding my warranty.
