Just wondering whether or not any other LE owners on here have questioned or been questioned about your paintwork???? I have, twice and also a friend with a yellow and black 1 has also had concerns.
Any help...Maybe we aren't being told something?????

Not quite sure what you want to know =- are you thinking there's a fault, or have other people been asking if you did it yourself to turn an ordinary GTO or Monaro into a LE?

You need to clarify a little more as it's a bit hard to understand where ur coming from?

yep ok thats fair enough,, but was just trying to guage some sort of interest without trying to give away to much...but our concerns are that I for one, when the car was sitting in my Factory last week 1 of my employees mates who's a panel beater had told him that the boot and bonnet had been Painted..presumedly after being delivered from Holden and also when dropping the car at CSV, peter had asked me when first coming up to the car if it had been repainted or cleared as it looked deeper/Flatter then normal..also i have noticed a paint run at the bottom of my door more like a paint blob...same with my mate and he's yellow and black 1, he has a paint run on 1 of he's front guards...maybe i'm just being picky.but has anyone else come across or had similar?

Cheers

Mine's a red one and one thing I noticed about the paint compared to my just traded CV8-Z in Turismo was the awesome flat finish on the HSV. the white stripes are painted at HSV and then they must re-clear the bonnet and boot as there is minimal bump where the white meets red. Maybe they reclear the whole car?
I went over mine in the showroom on hands and knees to make sure it was blemish free all over.
I found 2 tiny dirt particles in the white on the boot, and much later at home some light white overspray on the front window, made more evident by where someone using a blade has scrapped of the pre delivery stickers!!
I informed my HSV rep and he said they'll fix it when I bring it up next.
Overall, pissed about the overspray on a HSV $80k odd car, but very happy with all else.
cheers

You'll also find that Benzs and BMWs have the odd little paint run too...It's a fact of life with a mass produced product. Unless it's in the middle of the bonnet just learn to live with it. Many of these problems are rectified at the factory before they go out, but they regard stuff that wouldn't normally be picked other than by someone down on their hands and knees with a magnifying glass, as being acceptable. Try to be realistic and don't get too worked up about it or you'll spoil your enjoyment of a great car. Like I said, it's a mass-produced product and they aren't perfect...and sometimes the rectification is worse than the original problem..
