Gday
Ive just got my hands on a LS1 Auto gear box. If possible, ide like to ditch the manual box and transplant the auto in.
i know the auto is computer controlled. Im just wondering how hard is it to transplant?
Does the computer need to be changed?
thanks for any info

 Why in the hell would you want to do that for, don't you like the manual or something? Manual is so much better, if I had the chance I would of got a manual.

In short you need:
Auto wiring harness
Auto pedal assembly
Auto Radiator or seperate auto trans cooler
Associated auto fluid lines
Auto Shifter & surround
and a reflash to an auto operating system
That covers most of it from memory.

1.)Easier on drivetrain.
2.)better 60' times @ drags
3.)consistancy at drags
4.)ive sheered a tailshaft at drags
5.)my diff is ****ed due to harsh manual changes

If you hadn't aquired the transmission already, the standard answer has always been that by the time you muck round doing it is cheaper to sell the manual and buy an auto.

But you have the tranny, so it could be a completely different kettle of fish.

The only thing fishy is our Mr Rouse and his inate ability to bring to life stories that J.R.R Tolkien would be proud of.

Personally I think Mr Rouse rides a non motorised scooter to his after school job emptying the bins at the sperm bank.

But thats just me. :D
