Hi,
I'm a new member to this thread and am enjoying the content so far.
May I ask what an LS1 is? Is it a special engine?

Its your common Generation 3, 5.7L Chev V8 found commonly in SS, Berlina, calais, statesman/caprice and all HSV range (except the XU6 VX) between VT series 2 and the VZ

 Tell me your joking how did you find this site?!?
The LS1 is the v8 engine that has been used in VTII-VZ commodores. GenIII is another name for this motor.
Up untill recently it was the same motor in Corvettes but they now have the LS2 which is a 6.0L V8 same one used in the current VZ HSV models.
I dont know of a LS3 but there is a LS7 which is in the current Z06 corvette this is a 427ci motor (7.0L)

Wow. What a big job!
Some of the front wheel drive to rear wheel drive conversions (Focus) already have a “transmission tunnel” that the prop shaft can run in, looks like that guy is making his own. I wonder if he also thought about a second generation Legend coupe, that was still FWD but had a longitudinal V6 rather than the usual transverse arrangement.

Not at all mate.
The complete drivetrain, ecu and loom, came from a 2004 GTO only covered 14,000 miles. £2335 plus £800 for shipping VAT and UK duty.
I sold my engine and g/box for £2500, and have spent around £1500 since then, no labour charges, as I`m doing it together with a mate, otherwise the cost would`ve been horrendous
