Sorry about this.. got tired after five pages of search results. (seems people like talking abou v8's and fuel economy :p)
Just wonder what people with 3.9 diffs are getting fuel wise, I just had :
11.5-12 @ 60km/h and
12.5-13 at 100km/h cruising on the way home.
(Used cruise control over long flat run to get figures).
Car has an edit, maf pipe and cat back 3.5" system. VY Clubby A4.
Turning Climate off made about 0.3 difference.
Just after people with A4's and 3.9 diffs and similar mods... thanks :love2:
Just working out if I should go LPG or if I am using more than average...

nah not talking average dude.. I mean real time fuel usage @ those speeds... my average around town is about 22.. but i don't really want to talk about averages as there are too many variables such as driver, average speed etc..

I have a baby cam, 3.9, A4, Pacies, Sureflo 2.5. mafless PT tune, and I get about 10.9 at 110 on a trip and I do almost totally short city trips rarely out of 2nd or 3rd gear around the 'burbs and I get about 18 -21.

Gotta Statesman, 3.91, OTRCAI, full 2.5" exhaust (headers all the way through) and suitable MAFles tune. Did over 850km in the last three days on the highway at about 110 to 120 with 10.2 litres per 100 kms. Usually about 14 to 17 litres per 100km for city stuff.

Thanks guys... sounds like anyone sitting on 10L/100KM on the highway with 3.9's has a mafless edit?
Mine's a MAF edit... and is using at least 20% more ??... at 110 it's about 13L/100Kms according to the real time read out...
anyone running 3.9's WITH a maf getting 10/100 at 100 or 110km/h ??

Mine used around 12.5 with 3.9s on the highway pre cam, now it's more like 11.5 with the cam, who would have thought a cam would improve fuel economy anywhere!

The cars can be tuned for better economy - but many mafless tunes have no work put into this area and even have DFCO turned off. If a LS1 with a small cam or stock car is not getting under 11.0L/100km at 100kph cruise on a flat road then something is wrong.
