This is a list of what im gonna put in my car sooner or later
camshaft
cat back exhaust
underdriven pulley
OTR CAI
diff ratios
mafless tune
not sure if i need valve springs and retainers and 1.8 rockers....
now...
the big question
What order should all this be done??
should i get the exhaust then buy everything else and do it at once??
or should i do things now that dont really need a tune, then do the rest that require a tune...
help a brother out!!! :stick:

well you can do catback and headers at the same time and not need a tune immediatly ...
basically everything else will need one, cams, OTR (running mafless will require the edit straight away) ... diff ratios need a tune also ....
sooo basically do catback/headers then hold on till you have enough cash to do most of those things at once along with the tune then if there is one or 2 more things to add a little touchup tune will cover it

thats my opinion

You seem to post almost every day asking about what mods you should do and why. You would be better off doing some reading and finding out what the mods do and why they work. There is a mountanin of info here and starting a new thread every day with a slightly re-worded topic isnt going to help you or anyone that reads the thread.

The order of things doesnt really matter as long as the tune is last (or at least gets touched up after the other mods are done to tie them all together)

it annoys me more than anyone else. believe me.
everytime i choose something, there is always something that forgets to get mentioned to me, therefore as usual being a very big thing, so i change my mind. :P
Eg.
GenT-1000
noone said that you would get very high hp, and its not something that you would really be able to drive very well on the street.
Also neglecting that fact that you would have to do a fair bit of engine work so it can keep up with the turbo, let alone new brakes that can slow the car down, and driveline, gearbox
that on top of the Turbo kit, there is another 20k
i have done my research and found the most applicable mods that i can do to my car that will allow me to drive it with ease, and no worries what so ever.
now instead of doing one thing at a time, i'd like to do everything at once, ONCE, and once only.
When things are neglected to be spoken of, and you have to post too many threads and add everything together, it gets very frustrating, wouldn't it be better if it was all told in the original thread???
sorry, lol, just my thoughts.

What you are asking is impossible. Every car and owner is different. Your goals are not the same as others and what you want to achieve can be done many different ways. Not once have you stated what you want from your car. You CAN get a T1000 and bolt it to a completely stock car and use it as a daily driver. To do it safely you will need a fuel system upgrade but thats it.

As with ANY modification, once it starts it doesnt stop. You want to go faster, you need more power, you need to stop better, you need more fuel, stronger gearboxes, clutches, stronger axles, better tyres, stronger engine internals etc. It will always be a comprimise between power and safety (strength). In a lot of cases you can get more power but there will always be a weak point. That could be as simple as weak valve springs or as complex as a rod out the side of the block.

First things first, what is the goal for the car, how do you drive it, what do you want from it. Answer that first then see one of the forum sponsors (Sams, Sonny etc) and they can plan a solution for you.

IMHO in this order:

1. Catback
2. Extractors + opened OEM or aftermarket cats.
3. Diff gears.
4. Tune / CAM + Valve Springs & Tune.
5. Optional double row timing chain if doingCAM but not essential.
6. After all this brakes may be an advisable thing to do next.

Simply put, get all your mods you plan to do done before you get a tune. Think carefully about which way you want to go (is N/A Cam or FI) before you start, otherwise you can potentially swallow up a lot of $$ get re-tunes each time you change your mind.

Roller Rockers are good but not essential. You can achieve the same result with a 222/224 cam as you can with a smaller cam and rockers.

Read ALL the technical LS1 stickies for info as opposed to the Jason Rouse technique of asking the same Q over and over in the attempt of getting the answer you want to hear.

if my car was F/I
it would be a daily driver only when my parents are in the car too, other than that i would drive it like there was no tomorrow.
so i would have to get everything else done.
now in saying that, who would do all that to a car and not drive it hard and fast?
if you wouldn't there would be no point in getting it in the first place, True or not???

Personally i didnt do all my mods so i could thrash the crap out of it every minute of the day... But go for it if you feel that way inclinded.

Ive enjoyed doing all my mods gradually, you get a kick out of every mod, i have more respect for everything ive done.

ask yourself "what end result do i want"

At the begining i had no idea, i just wanted a bit more power, and sound of a v8. I ended up getting addicted and probably gone further with it than i had ever imagined when i first bought my ute.

see if you can get some drives in cars that have all the goods in it, and see if thats the path you want to go.

Good luck
