Vortex 98 in Brisbane

Mate, get your fuel at a Matilda servo.
It`s Caltex petrol anyway, usually cheaper there as well.

I just recently posted in another thread (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=665601&postcount=18) that I had just noticed this .... the arrival in Brisbane certainly went off with a whimper ... haven't noticed any promotion and my local servo had no signage anywhere other than on the pump itself

Looks like you beat me to it! Certainly has been a wimper; I would have thought that they would be promoting this more heavily - maybe they will. It seems that this is a good fuel from all accounts. I'm happy as I still have about $3000 worth of credit on the Caltex card I got when I bought the VZSS - now I get to enjoy it and not just the wife using the plain stuff in her Astra.

If your Local Servo is the same as Mine ( Rothwell) then yeah they have had it for around a week, i tried it yesterday and felt the same as BP and showed no Knock on my guage

The Caltex at the end of Schonnel drive at St Lucia has a Vortex 98 flag out the front of it. I wonder if woolies servos will get it aswell?

well its about time we got some other 98 octane on the market... as i am sure Vulture will agree we don't have a lot of BP servos around the area so with Both Caltex and Mobil using 98 it will give me some alternative

Yep, few and far between. The Caltex-Woolworths near the Kippa-Ring shopping centre also has it. I wonder if Caltex also has a winter and summer brew? If not, sounds like it will be the one to use in the cold and Ultimate in the summer.

Wow, are you guys for real! That's some slow distribution plan Caltex are running. Vortex 98 has been available in Canberra for at least 12 months.

No different to when Shell released Optimax .... first Victoria was the only state that had it, followed by NSW later. Some time later QLD finally got it after the logistics of transporting up all the way up here from the southern refineries were sorted.

QLD however got BP Ultimate right away on release due to the BP refinery in Brisbane.

Once upon a time, I would use nothing but Caltex, (leaded)

Great to see the 98 here.

I was always fond of the Vortex and SOTP said that it was an excellent fuel even in 95 RON. I used it a couple of times when I couldn't find 98 when I was in Cairns and sometimes I swear it felt better.

Sorry, since writting this, I have found out that Matilda use Shell petrol here in Bris.
