you can get a mail order tune for around the $400 mark from Chipmaster(Delco).

If you do a search on Mail order tune you will fine heaps of info on this.

Mate, you've gone and spent up on all that other stuff and you're worried about the price of an edit :slap: It pays for itself in 12-18months in fuel costs alone - seriously, you're missing out on the best your LS1 has to deliver. I'd be surprised if the covers were worth that much day to day but there are those who have tested with and without at drag meets and it seems that there is a measurable difference when heat soak sets in so not necessarily such a silly claim. To be worried about 6kw from the turtle shell and not worried about the 20-30 REAR wheel KW you're missing out on by not having it edited is crazy IMO.

I dont know bout 6rwkw's more, though the turtle shell traps alot of heat under the shell causing high intake temps as the inlet manifold cops heat soak,so keeping the cover off will help prevent that, hence ur car wont "suffer any power loss due to heat soak" hope this gives you a better undertstanding ;)

You need to get a 160 F thermostat - it will help heaps in the NT. With the stock thermo and fan settings everytime you stop the car will quickly heat to 98 C and then battle to cool down again. With a 160 thermo the fans can be adjusted to come on at a lower temp and the engine will stay in the mid to low 80s. This will help power in hot climates considerably - especially off the mark at the lights etc.

Yep, the decreased fuel usage is very noticable and measurable.
Cheers.
