as long as you have all correct reports from your state that you live in you will be right .

As long as the car is legal in the state you come or registered in. you wont have a problem they can only try and scare you haha.

While on holiday in Victoria (car is reg'd in WA), I got pulled over afew times .. everytime they commented on the volume of the exhaust, especially under WOT and the height of the car in the rear and that if the car was registered in Vic they would issue a yellow sticker but since it wasnt, it was pointless.

Hope this helps..

THIS can depend on the actual defect notified.

Remember, in ALL AUS jurisdictions, post ADR process, your car is to comply with the National Vehicle Standards.

If the defect is one in contravention of NVR's, then the notice can be given, if serious enough, you will be stopped at point of operation and will not be able to drive further.

Jurisdictional police do this now with for example heavy vehicles, REGARDLESS where they are registered, in application this is no different for cars.

Any debit by way of infringement recieved, if unpaid is then chased up in the usual manner of debit collection.

So if they really want to make a point of pullin you over and defecting you they could, but would have to be pretty serious sort of problem, i couldnt see them pulling someone over and taking them to a EPA station for noise testing if they were from another state.

they all have different levels, NSW is crap, really quiet 92 dB but in QLD and vic its 98 dB and nice sounding cat back 2.5 system under throttle is around the 96-98 hahahaha.

As long as you are not attracting attention you shouldnt have a problem i dont believe
