recaro bucket seats?

guys i have a ss sedan vy.. and i was thinking about upgrading the seats to some nice recaros for better support... is it possible to do, i heard the side airbags could be affected when changing the seats?

The side airbags are built into the seats, so if you remove the standard seats, you'll be without the side air-bags.... I'd hate to think of the implications of that on your warranty, insurance, etc.

as far as im aware the vy's didnt get side airbags, unless it was a higher model like a calais. SS's a povety pack spec. except they get the passenger airbag.

my vx has side impact airbags.....

can i ask why? Why not upgrade to HSV Coulson spec seats ( or HSV Coupe) seats that gives you the required hugging/firmness yes still retains your factory side airbags.

Not to mention any insurance cliams if if was found that you removed a safety feature from the vehicle and from that the vehicle didnt comply with ADRs?

Standard SS does not get Side Airbags.....but once you say leather Interior you automatically get Side Airbags.

OK i see... well i have leather ss seats so that means i do have the the airbags there... I was never going to change it if this was the case....

Nick how much would i be looking at for hsv coulsen front seats?

mate easiest way to tell. is in the book. or call up hodlen give them yoru vin and tehyw ill be able to look it up on the database

I have a VYss 02 series 1 with cloth seats and side airbags mine is not an X cop car either.

to make the mud seem even clearer. my series 1 vy ss has leathor seats and no side airbags.

Not sure if it being a ute makes any difference though.

I thought it went like this for the SS (at least the sedan):


VX - Cloth only no side airbags
VXII - Cloth no side airbags, optional leather = side air bags manditory
VYI - Side air bags standard even with cloth trim
VYII - As per VYI

Roman Auto Tek in Sydney, were, the main importer of Recaro, you cannot in my opinion go past a Recaro.
They sell, or will make adaptors to fit em to your car.
