well today i gave my ute to holden for 3 days because the hardcover has rubbed off the paint on the tail gate and up the quarters, n e way being a carpenter i need a car so i asked them 4 1 n they said yeh fine, so they give me a vz exec no tow bar, the indicator lite stays on, the thing harldy starts, and they want me to pay 27.50 a day for it. wat makes me pissed off is that fact that my car is in for repairs because of the poor quality of manufacturing, and they want to charge me to use a loan car. Im now up to my fourth problem with this car, n im fed up wit it, i dont hav time to run back n fourth leaving my car wit them, who pays for my time?? :soap:

Sounds annoying. No problem about the lack of towbar or a loan ute though....just chuck all your tools in the back seat and boot:evil: Get your $27.50 worth.

The hardcovers have been a problem with fit and finish - especially the dealer fit ones. The few I fixed through the dealer I service advised at were cured by continually adjusting the hinges until they allowed the lid to close perfectly. I believe some of the aftermarket ones have given similar probs.

Re the loan car - my dealer had an old TF Rodeo they loand out to commercial vehicle service customers, but it was booked months in advance. Remember Holden doesn't provide loan cars, dealers do, and its often to fix manufacturer problems. Some dealers go to extraordinary lengths to accomodate their customers, but if your business is restricted through a manufacturer related problem, tell your beef to the manufacturer. it sounds like the dealer's made good with wheels which is better than nothing, but if its a dog, there's probably a good reason why (availability of the usual loan cars?) I worked for one dealer that was unprofessional enough to have substandard loan cars, but these days with important customer service surveys I doubt this still occurs (this dealer had a VO Berlina sedan - a cut and shut accidentally traded by the used car dept, that had heaps of VN/VP/VR bits and was notorious for its spooky handling :lmao: )

Hope you get everything resolved

Cheers

Good to hear someone adding a viewpoint that is "balanced" for once.....
Our work once had a Jackaroo loaner that came back so filthy, even down to dog turds in the carpet, and non removable sweat stains in the seat trim. They were told NEVER to come back and expect special attention after that. I'm sure some people on here can understand why, and that dealers put up with an awful lot thrown back at us.....

unfortunately it happens no matter what the car brand or price tag.

I see it happen with prestige cars worth $150 000 + its not just because Holden is a 'cheaper' car and trust me some customers arent happy after spending in excess of $150 000 for a motor car and its riddled with problems.

With us we have had to practically purchase a fleet of Toyota Corollas because their practically unkillable, but for those who require the use of a 7 seater, or a towbar, or a million other reasons weve had to fork out for 1 model of each as well to help the customer meet their needs. That said loan cars are booked much in advance.

But Holden isnt any help. Our Adventra has problems too which arent covered by warranty because its passed its first service. Problem is we asked Holden to rectify the problems (rattle in the roof for one) and they couldnt do it. 3 dealers have a had a shot, 1 charged us retail for it because a HBD roof isnt supported under holden warranty ... go figure, yet the rattle still remains. Im tempted to take the roof lining off myself to fix the damn thing.
