Get them done the same day , put your 3.46 into the auto complete and then go shares on upgrading the auto diff to 3.9's and put it into your car - that way you can both be winners.
should cost around $1400 max to do that change and upgrade so $700 each sound like a good bargain

Once its off the crown wheel they never go back into mesh properly , we normally send them out for relapping or just throw them in the bin, hence my comment to do the changeover at the same time and not disturb the diff

Well I just got home from WA Performance and the 3.9's and rip shift went in without a hitch as I thought it would with Mitch behind the spanners. The rip shifter is awsome it makes the whole gearbox and shift gear feel unbreakable and so slick with absolutly no freeplay .When I went to leave I checked the car was in nuetral with a wobble from side to side and there is so little freeplay I thought it was in gear as it had about the same amount of movement in nuetral as it used to have in gear (if you know what I mean).
The 3.9's have been hard to gauge as the roads are wet but where 1st and 2nd in the wet used to be fun its now 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th the diff makes the whole car feel lighter and much more responsive 1st and 2nd are much more suited to the cars power, the added bonus is 6th is much more usable and 5th has good acceleration.I am very very happy with the mods and Mitch and Debs (WA Performance) no BS freindly service the car actually feels smoother and tighter and was finished on time. $$$ well spent Thank you Mitch and Deb.
Cheers Daz.

I would love a cam but its a very pricy mod $3500 cam & lifters
$2500 Tex
$1000 pacy's
$7000.00 cam job
Saying that I would still looove one cammed LS1's sound very tuff

Power is great traction is better .Well today in dry weather I have had a chance to try her out and I am impressed the driving experience is just heaps better 1st and 2nd are simply awesome the car does now fight for grip and you realise how tall the factory diff is.The rip shifter is also a must for any manual. If anyone ever wants to take mine for a spin feel free to call in at my shop just out of wangara.I still believe your cars performance is only ever as good as your grip level so I still believe on the STREET my car will stick with the bufoon on the track where traction is better its a different matter just ask Thorny who copped a pasting on the cruise at a set of lights when mine put 300rwhp into forward motion and he turned 400rwhp into smoke and two strip's .....
PS:I did not get the old gears back I will ask mitch maybe they were binned like Delco said.

Hey Daz what's the conversion to rwkw from rwhp. People use different readings and I'm unclear ??? :stick:
Good to hear you are happy. I'll have to come and see you one day and try the ripshift out. Oh, on second thoughts I better not. Trying to behave myself and get new VE when it arrives ....:burnout:
I didn't hear about Thorny's effort until now. Anyone get pics ? If so PM me and I'll send email ad...

I have a million things i want to do to it, no idea what i want to do first. Probably fix the important things first, eg gearbox and paint work. See what happens after that.
Im keeping the ute for many more years yet, so i guess no rush :)

You'll get no argument from me from what you've said about power vs. traction. It's easier to drive my car with 269rwkw than 309rwkw, let alone what it will make when the other mods are done on the factory Dunlops. It's not the power that makes as much difference as the massive increase in tractive effort though.
As for tall diff ratios, try the factory 2.73 diff my car has :eyes:

Is that price the recommended retail price + ORC ?
What's the tune worth that you had done to get your 12.5 1/4 time ?
