Our GTO will shortly be due for its first service. After reading many, many threads on this site relative to terrible service standards at Holden Dealerships, I'm really not looking forward to the experience!
So, what should I look out for, & are there any particular problems that any of you VZ GTO owners have required to be rectified at this service?
Cheers, Pickles.

My dads car has been perfect, only trouble to date was a missaligned guard, that was from new though and was fixed very quickly, dealer had to tow it to sydney from the central coast too.

Had mine in last week............didnt appear to be any dramas, just the things I had noticed when 1st delivered.... glove box sag..... appears to be one of those traits.......Then I took it to see Marcus at GENTECH (who as usual did a 1st rate job...261rwkw later ......and I am still Grinnin!!) and he noticed that there was some give (sideways movement) in the clutch pedal..... and there was a very minor oil leak at the rear main........... Now I am no mechanic but I would have thought these were very obvious things that would have been easily picked up by an apprentice.... let alone a HSV mechanic????

Long story short ...its booked back in for a look see and after the event I will be taking it back to Marcus for a real once over so I dont get the old cover up again.....................

Is the 3000Km "service" actually a service on your LS2? On the LS1 it is merely an "inspection". ie they don't change any fluids. It seems most of us got an oil changed added at this service.

Yes, you're right- I think they're supposed to fix up any faults, rattles, blemishes etc, that I may have issues with. Can't find much at the moment- all seems to be ok, I suppose I was wondering what issues, problems others have had. I willl be getting the oil & filter changed.
Cheers, Pickles.

Take it to where you purchased it Pickles. I have been there 4 times now for various reasons, and they have been ok. Make sure you take a photo of your speedo and also tell them that you have.

Holden quite often inform dealers of what appear to be small oil leaks, but are actually from lubricant used to help assembly. If it gets no worse, it's simply assembly lubricant, and will clean off no dramas. Workshops tend to see these things and assume oil leaks sometimes. Not saying it isn't, but something you should be aware of.
Clutch pedal movement is also standard. They aren't made to be overly tight. Glovebox "sag" is also a pretty common topic. Design issue.

We've had a couple of people needing a new 19" rim, from hitting those nice 19's on gutters.....:stick:
Seriously, hope it's going well with the GTO.
