Unusual trip computer incident VX SS

Washed the SS today and needed to move it a couple of feet, I started it with the drivers door open and proceed to move forward a touch, didn't bother to close the door as it was just a foot or so I needed to move, it was also on a full lock as I was checking the condition of the front tyres, well I had the dash start chiming the red security light started flashing and the traction control light came on in the dash and wouldn't turn off, turned the motor off and restarted and all was well again, it all happened when I pulled it into drive with the door ajar, do they have a built in warning telling you that you have a door open and you are in drive or was it just a glitch? Any one know? The security light and traction light coming on confused me, the chime I could understand. Maybe it was just a hiccup?

Go thru your options on the dash display. seem to remember seeing an option on mine about being in gear while the doors are open/closed, or could have been lock all doors whilst in gear. Plenty of options when you start pushing buttons.

I think thats your ABS unit failing its test.
Not sure how big an issue it is (not much I dont think)
Did it have a little X on the left hand screen?

I had the same problem this morning, trac off light came on and the red security light near the mode button was flashing. Turned off the car, turned back on and problem gone but it was quite weird and I cant remember if the door was open but ive turned on the car many times with door open. Funnily enough I washed the car the day before too! Couldnt be to with that could it?! This arvo on way home from work, problem didnt occur so could be a weird once off??

Anyone else know if its a ABS problem or is there a trac control module that could be failing slowly?

Hi 'CEV' that incident occured about 12 months ago and never had a problem since, mentioned it on the next service and nothing showed up so I guess it was some sort of once off glitch. Car is running fantastic best car I have ever had.

Funny that this thread should appear, as I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was home a few weeks back. The 'Trac off' light came on and the security light flashed also. My door was closed and I had just started the car and taken off. I turned the car off and then back on and all was well.

Nothing similar since that time either.
