After many hours searching I still cant determine what brand of TB seems best on the VY some like a brand them others don't.I am keen to purchase a TB for my car but want one that is going to work (not ss reductions etc) can anyone shed some light on a good brand I don't want to spend 5-$600 as I don't think the gains would be worth that so if anyone has a good one for sale second hand I am keen.

Cheers Daz.

very few make any more power, just a little bit more responcive. There are far better mods to spend the $$ on. If you have a stroker they make a bigger difference.

Hi Daz,

It depends on what bolt-ons/mods you have.

Basically, a standard motor with the regular bolt-ons will yield a gain of about 6rwKw with correctly ported and polished standard throttle body through an A4. (Proven on the dyno).

There is a major difference the way the motor behaves in regards to idle and responsiveness to minimal throttle opening. Further, there is proven gain in low down torque.

All the experienced racers/engine builders will tell you that its not the power but torque that wins the races.

Don't have to be an Einstein, but 'bang-for-buck' its an excellent investment with next to no depreciation.

Cheers,
